4 Maoists Arrested Over Chhattisgarh Blast That Killed 10 Cops, Driver

Four Maoists have been arrested and three teenage boys detained for their alleged role in triggering an IED blast that killed 10 District Reserve Guard (DRG) jawans and a driver in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh on April 26, a police officer said on Sunday.

The four Maoists are identified as Budhra Madvi, Jitendra Muchaki, Hidma Madkam, and Hidma Madvi- all militia members of the Malanger Area Committee under the Darbha division of the banned CPI (Maoist), he said.

Madvi, Muchaki and Hidma Madkam were arrested on Friday while Hidma Madvi was held on Sunday.

Three teenage boys aged between 15 and 17 years have been detained for their alleged involvement in the incident, the officer said, adding the detained trio was active as "Bal Sangham" members.

A court remanded the four Maoists to jail while the minors were sent to a juvenile home, he added.

Further investigation is underway.

In the biggest strike on security forces in Chhattisgarh in the last two years, Maoists on April 26 blew up a vehicle carrying jawans in Dantewada district using an IED, leaving ten police personnel and a civilian driver dead.

अमर्त्य सेन को नोटिस के खिलाफ शांतिनिकेतन में TMC का प्रदर्शन तीसरे दिन भी जारी

नोबेल पुरस्कार से सम्मानित अर्थशास्त्री अमर्त्य सेन को विश्वभारती विश्वविद्यालय द्वारा शांतिनिकेतन परिसर में कुल 1.38 एकड़ जमीन में से 0.13 एकड़ खाली करने के नोटिस के विरोध में सत्तारूढ़ तृणमूल कांग्रेस (TMC) द्वारा आयोजित धरना रविवार को तीसरे दिन भी जारी रहा. विश्वविद्यालय प्रशासन का आरोप है कि प्रख्यात अर्थशास्त्री ने शांतिनिकेतन परिसर में 0.13 एकड़ जमीन पर अवैध रूप से कब्जा किया हुआ है. इस नोटिस के खिलाफ अमर्त्य सेन ने अदालत का रुख किया है.

धरना स्थल पर मंत्री चंद्रनाथ सिन्हा और स्थानीय बोलपुर नगर पालिका के पार्षद मौजूद थे. स्थानीय लोगों और टीएमसी के स्थानीय नेताओं के एक वर्ग ने प्रदर्शन में हिस्सा लिया. इस दौरान लोक गायकों ने भी अपनी प्रस्तुति दी और प्रदर्शन में हिस्सा लिया.

सेन के आवास ‘प्रतिची' के निकट स्थित रवीन्द्र भवन संग्रहालय शनिवार और रविवार को बंद रहता है. विश्वभारती के अधिकारियों ने चार मई को अपरिहार्य परिस्थितियों का हवाला देते हुए इस संबंध में एक नोटिस जारी किया था.

नोटिस के विरोध में बुद्धिजीवियों ने शनिवार को उनके पैतृक आवास के पास धरना दिया था. लगातार दूसरे दिन आयोजित विरोध प्रदर्शन में भाग लेने वाले बुद्धिजीवियों में फिल्म निर्माता गौतम घोष, चित्रकार शुभप्रसन्न और जोगेन चौधरी शामिल थे.

कलकत्ता उच्च न्यायालय ने नोबेल विजेता अर्थशास्त्री को शांति निकेतन स्थित उनके पुश्तैनी आवास ‘प्रतिची' की कुछ भूमि से बेदखल करने की विश्वभारती विश्वविद्यालय की संभावित कार्रवाई पर बृहस्पतिवार को अंतरिम रोक लगा दी थी.

सेन ने विश्व भारती विश्वविद्यालय की ओर से जारी उस बेदखली नोटिस के खिलाफ कलकत्ता उच्च न्यायालय का रुख किया था, जिसमें उनसे छह मई तक शांतिनिकेतन स्थित उनके पुश्तैनी आवास की 0.13 एकड़ भूमि खाली करने के लिए कहा गया है.

रवींद्रनाथ टैगोर द्वारा 1921 में स्थापित विश्वभारती को 1951 में विश्वविद्यालय घोषित किया गया था और यह पश्चिम बंगाल का एकमात्र केंद्रीय विश्वविद्यालय है.

पुंछ में आतंकवादी के साथी के मकान में एक ठिकाने का भंडाफोड़, हथियार बरामद

सुरक्षाबलों ने जम्मू कश्मीर के पुंछ जिले में पिछले महीने सेना के एक वाहन पर घात लगाकर हमला करने के संबंध में गिरफ्तार किए गए एक आतंकवादी के साथी के मकान में बने एक ठिकाने का रविवार को भंडाफोड़ किया. गौरतलब है कि भाटा दूड़ियां वन्य क्षेत्र में 20 अप्रैल को आतंकवादियों ने सेना के एक वाहन पर हमला किया था, जिसमें पांच जवान शहीद हो गए थे.

अधिकारियों ने बताया कि आतंकवादियों को मदद देने के आरोप में गिरफ्तार छह लोगों में से एक निसार अहमद सुरक्षाबलों को अपने घर लेकर गया, जहां इस ठिकाने का भंडाफोड़ किया गया. उन्होंने बताया कि ठिकाने की तलाशी के दौरान दो हथगोले, तीन एके मैगजीन और कुछ नकदी भी बरामद हुई है.

Medical Aspirant Hit By Truck On Way To UP Exam Centre, Dies: Cops

An 18-year-old NEET aspirant on his way to an exam centre was killed after his motorcycle was hit by a truck in Sarsawa area on Sunday, police said.

The National Entrance cum Eligibility Test (NEET) was conducted on Sunday.

Ruchit Kamboj, a resident of Mohalla Durga Colony, was travelling to Deoband with his friend when the accident occurred, Superintendent of Police (Rural) Sagar Jain told PTI.

Kamboj sustained serious head injuries while his friend escaped with minor injuries, he said.

A police team took Kamboj to a hospital where the doctors declared him dead.

The driver of the truck abandoned the vehicle and fled, police said, adding that the body has been sent for postmortem.

Nitish Kumar To Meet Naveen Patnaik In Odisha On May 9

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will meet his Bihar counterpart Nitish Kumar on May 9, amid talks of regional parties coming together ahead of the 2024 general elections, officials said.

Nitish Kumar will meet Naveen Patnaik at 'Naveen Niwas' in Bhubaneswar around 12 pm, they said.

The Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) leader had recently announced that he would travel across the country to unite opposition parties ahead of the Lok Sabha polls next year.

He has already met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav, and Left leaders Sitaram Yechury and D Raja. Mr Patnaik, the BJD supremo, had also met Mamata Banerjee in March.

In December last year, Mr Patnaik had invited both Ms Banerjee and Mr Kumar to witness the hockey world cup in Odisha.

साढ़े तीन सौ साल बाद मुगलकाल के सबसे उदार और फारसी के विद्वान शहजादे दारा शिकोह की कब्र को खोज लेने का दावा किया गया है. दरअसल, दारा शिकोह की विरासत खोजने के लिए तीन साल पहले भारत सरकार ने एक कमेटी बनाई थी. अब उस कमेटी में शामिल केके मोहम्मद और बीआर मनी जैसे मशहूर पुरातत्वविद् ने दारा शिकोह के कब्र की पहचान पर सहमति दी है. किसी जमाने में दारा शिकोह अपने उदार और दानी व्यक्तित्व के चलते दिल्ली और आगरा की जनता में खासा लोकप्रिय था, लेकिन औरंगजेब दारा शिकोह से किस कदर नफरत करता था इसका जिक्र इतिहासकार मनूची ने किया है. लड़ाई हारने के बाद दारा शिकोह को बंदी बनाकर पहले दिल्ली की सड़कों पर घुमाया गया, फिर सिर काटकर हुमायूं के मकबरे में दफना दिया गया.

आलमगीरनामा से मिला सुराग
इसके बाद दारा शिकोह की कब्र सैकड़ों साल तक गुमनामी के अंधेरे में रही, लेकिन फिर 2020 में भारत सरकार ने एक कमेटी बनाकर दारा शिकोह और अब्दुल रहीम की विरासत को खोजने का काम शुरु किया. दारा शिकोह की कब्र खोजने का काम दिल्ली नगर निगम के हेरीटेज सेल के इंजीनियर संजीव कुमार ने शुरू किया. रिसर्च में कब्र का पहला सुराग औरंगजेब पर फारसी में लिखी किताब आलमगीरनामा से मिला. दिल्ली नगर निगम हेरीटेज सेल के इंजीनियर संजीव कुमार ने बताया कि आलमगीरनामा में साफतौर पर लिखा है कि दारा शिकोह को हुमायूं मकबरे में वहां दफन कर दिया गया, जहां बादशाह अकबर के दो बेटे दानियाल और मुराद दफन थे. इसके बाद दिक्कत यह थी कि हुमायूं मकबरे के तहखाने में जाने के लिए 64 दरवाजे थे. फिर खोज के दौरान पता चला कि एक दरवाजे के बाहर कोई कब्र नहीं थी और उसका रास्ता हुमायूं गुंबद के पांच तहखानों तक जाता है.

150 से अधिक कब्रों में से ढूंढा
इस तरह संजीव कुमार ने हूमायूं के मकबरे की 150से 160 कब्रों के बीच दारा शिकोह की कब्र खोजने का दावा किया है. उनके इस शोध पर भारत सरकार की सात सदस्यीय कमेटी में से चार सदस्य ने सहमति दी है, जिसमें मशहूर पुरातत्वविद् केके मोहम्मद, बीआर मनी के अलावा मशहूर इतिहारकार इरफान हबीब भी शामिल हैं. ASI के पूर्व क्षेत्रीय निदेशक केके मोहम्मद ने कहा कि देखिए, सरकार ने दारा शिकोह पर जो कमेटी बनाई है उसमें मैं भी हूं. मैंने भी संजीव का ये शोध पढ़ा है. मेरे हिसाब से दारा शिकोह की कब्र वही है जो उसने खोजा है. हमने ये बात रिपोर्ट में लिखी भी है.

People's Democratic Front Merges With Meghalaya's Ruling Party

The People's Democratic Front (PDF) on Friday officially merged with the National People's Party (NPP) at a function in the latter party's office in Shillong.

The merger took place in the presence of Chief Minister and NPP chief Conrad Sangma.

PDF signed the papers of the merger, and both the party MLAs, Banteidor Lyngdoh and Gavin Mylliem joined the NPP.

After the merger, Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma tweeted saying that the merger will also merge the 'collective effort' for the state and people.

"Elated to welcome MLAs of PDF, Banteidor Lyngdoh, Gavin M Mylliem & all supporters of PDF to the growing NPP family. The growing belief in the NPP is a testament to the proven capabilities of NPP to take Meghalaya forward. Merger of PDF to NPP will also merge our collective mission for the State & its people," he said in a tweet

With this merger, the number of NPP MLAs in the 60-member Meghalaya legislative assembly has increased to 28, and the party is just three short of getting an absolute majority on its own.

In the 2023 Meghalaya Assembly elections, Gavin Maylim, who is also the president of PDF, won from the Sohra assembly constituency, and Banteidor Lyngdoh won from the Mawkynrew Assembly Constituency.
