संदेशखाली : ED अधिकारियों पर हमले के आरोप में शाहजहां शेख के भाई समेत तीन गिरफ्तार

केंद्रीय अन्वेषण ब्यूरो (सीबीआई) ने पश्चिम बंगाल के संदेशखाली में प्रवर्तन निदेशालय (ईडी) के दल पर पांच जनवरी को हुए हमले में शामिल होने के आरोप में तृणमूल कांग्रेस (टीएमसी) के निलंबित नेता शाहजहां शेख के भाई समेत तीन लोगों को शनिवार को गिरफ्तार किया. सीबीआई ने शाहजहां शेख के भाई शेख अलोमगीर, संदेशखालि में तृणमूल की छात्र शाखा के अध्यक्ष मफुजर मोल्ला और स्थानीय व्यक्ति सिराजुल मोल्ला को गिरफ्तार किया. उन्हें रविवार को स्थानीय अदालत में पेश किया जाएगा.  एजेंसी ने शाहजहां शेख के भाई और दो अन्य को पूछताछ के दौरान हिरासत में लिया. सीबीआई ने पश्चिम बंगाल पुलिस द्वारा दर्ज तीन प्राथमिकियों संबंधी मामलों को कलकत्ता उच्च न्यायालय के निर्देश पर अपने हाथ में ले लिया है. अधिकारियों ने बताया कि विस्तृत जांच के बाद और एकत्र किए गए तकनीकी साक्ष्यों के मद्देनजर इन तीनों को सीबीआई ने गिरफ्तार कर लिया.  सीबीआई ने अब तक 14 को किया गिरफ्तार  इन गिरफ्तारियों के साथ ही इस मामले में सीबीआई द्वारा पकड़े गए लोगों की संख्या बढ़कर 14 हो गई है.  अधिकारियों ने बताया कि एजेंसी को संदेह है क...

Over 40 Workers Injured In Explosion At Haryana Factory

Over 40 workers are injured, and three said to be critical in an explosion at an auto spare parts factory in Haryana on Saturday. The accident took place when a dust collector exploded at Life Long Company in Dharuhera, a big Industrial hub in Rewari District. Videos from the accident site showed people running out of the factory gate with columns of smoke rising into the evening sky.  Those injured have been admitted to Sir Shadi Lal Trauma Center.  "A boiler has exploded in a factory in Dharuhera, Rewari. We have alerted the hospitals. We have sent the ambulance to the factory. Several people have burn injuries. Sandeshkhali Women Meet President Murmu, Demand Central Forces Deployment

Six women from West Bengal's Sandeshkhali met President Droupadi Murmu here on Friday and demanded that central security force personnel be deployed in the area for the protection of women. Addressing the media shortly after meeting the President, one of the women who has travelled with her toddler said she fears for her life when she returns home. "I don't know what will happen when I return, we have been threatened that if we speak there will be repercussions," she said in an emotional tone. She even collapsed after the press briefing. PM Modi Holds Talks With Bhutanese Counterpart On Ways To Strengthen Ties

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday held extensive talks with his Bhutanese counterpart Tshering Tobgay focusing on ways to further strengthen the ties between the two countries. The talks took place hours after Mr Tobgay began a five-day visit to India, his first foreign trip after assuming the charge of the top office in January. Supreme Court Collegium Recommends Transfer Of 2 Delhi High Court Judges

The Supreme Court collegium on Wednesday recommended the transfer of two Delhi High Court judges to Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh High Courts. The five-member collegium headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud transferred Justice V Kameswar Rao to the Karnataka High Court after he requested for a shift to any other court. "By a communication dated March 4, 2024, Justice V Kameswar Rao, Judge, High Court of Delhi, has requested for transfer to any other High Court. Acceding to his request, the Collegium resolves to recommend that Justice V Kameswar Rao be transferred, in the interest of better administration of justice, to the High Court of Karnataka," the collegium, also comprising Justices Sanjiv Khanna, BR Gavai, Surya Kant and Aniruddha Bose said in its resolution. Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra Given Six-Month Extension

The government on Tuesday granted a six-month extension in service tenure of Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra, who was scheduled to retire at the end of next month, according to an official order. The decision was taken by the Appointments Committee of Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Mr Kwatra, a 1988-batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer, took charge as the foreign secretary on April 30, 2022.
