5-Year-Old Youngest In World To Undergo Successful "Awake" Brain Surgery

Doctors at AIIMS, Delhi, successfully performed a brain tumour surgery on a five-year-old girl while keeping her in a conscious state during the operation with the hospital claiming that she was the youngest patient in the world to undergo such a procedure. The procedure termed as 'awake craniotomy' (conscious sedation technique) surgery for left perisylvian intraaxial brain tumour was performed on January 4, AIIMS said in a statement. The child presented with a history of seizures and her brain MRI was done which showed a tumour in the left side of her brain adjacent to speech/language area, it said. The surgery lasted three hours, including time taken for giving local anaesthesia to the child by neuroanaesthetists. The tumour was removed successfully by a team of neurosurgeons as she remained conscious throughout the procedure. Ajit Pawar On Stage, His Party Worker Claims BJP MLA Slapped Him

An office bearer of the Ajit Pawar faction of NCP accused BJP MLA Sunil Kamble of hitting him during an event at Sassoon Hospital in Pune, a charge denied by the latter even as a purported video of the incident went viral on social media. In the video, Pune Cantonment MLA Sunil Kamble is seen coming down the steps and slapping a person who comes in the way. The identity of the person is not known though sources said he was a policeman. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar was also present at the function. Meanwhile, Jitendra Satav, an office bearer of the Ajit Pawar faction of NCP, claimed Mr Kamble hit him at the event. Mr Satav also claimed Sunil Kamble hit a police personnel. Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma On Key To Stop Violence In Manipur

Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma on Friday said there has to be a political solution to the ongoing ethnic strife in neighbouring Manipur, adding that there is no "magic solution" to stop violence in Manipur. Responding to a query on reports of fresh violence in Manipur, he said, "(It will) keep on happening unless and until we find a solution. But the solution is not with me. It lies with the Chief Minister of Manipur." Asked what would be his suggestion to his Manipur counterpart N Biren Singh, Lalduhoma said, "There has to be negotiations. There is some demand from the tribal population and tribal leaders. That has to be discussed with the Union Home Ministry. A political solution has to be there." अब सिर्फ घर के देने होंगे पैसे : यूपी RERA के इस फैसले से खरीदारों को कैसे होगा फायदा?

उत्तर प्रदेश में रियल एस्टेट विनियमन एवं विकास अधिनियम (RERA) ने घर खरीदारों के हित में एक बड़ा फैसला लिया है. अब खरीदारों को सिर्फ घर के पैसे देने होंगे. अब बिल्डरों को घर खरीदारों को घर का असल एरिया साफ-साफ बताना होगा. अब तक कई बिल्डर कॉमन एरिया को भी शामिल करके पूरे हिस्से का पैसा घर खरीदारों से मांगते रहे हैं. खरीदार को घर के साथ ही कॉमन एरिया की कीमत भी देनी पड़ती है. कई बार तो घर बहुत छोटा मिलता है. कई बिल्डर यह बताते ही नहीं हैं कि कारपेट एरिया कितना होगा. लेकिन अब यूपी रेरा ने कह दिया है कि सुपर एरिया पर फ्लैट नहीं बेचे जा सकेंगे.  यूपी रीयल एस्टेट रेगुलेशन एंड डेवलपमेंट एक्ट (RERA) ने कहा कि सुपर एरिया नहीं चलेगा. सुपर एरिया पर फ़्लैट की बिक्री अवैध मानी जाएगी. कारपेट एरिया के आधार पर फ़्लैट बेचना होगा. सुपर एरिया का कोई औचित्य नहीं है. Cold Wave Grips Delhi, Temperature Settled Four Notches Below Normal

It was a bone-chilling cold in the national capital on Wednesday with the maximum temperature settling at 15.7 degrees Celsius, four notches below the normal, the weather department said. Safdarjung, Delhi's main weather station, recorded a visibility of 200 meters at 8:30 am, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 7.3 degrees Celsius, below the normal for the season's average. "In Delhi, the temperature is set to hold steady over the next two days, while in some areas it may drop to around 6 or 7.5 degrees Celsius," said Kuldeep Srivastava, scientist and head, of Regional Weather Forecasting Centre. Srivastava said the first ten days of January are considered the coldest, but it's relatively warmer this year compared to the previous year. The Kerala High Court has declined a plea requesting the termination of the pregnancy of a 12-year-old girl, allegedly in an incestual relationship with her minor brother. The court noted that the foetus, now at 34 weeks, is fully developed and preparing for life outside the womb. The court stated that termination at this stage is not tenable, if not impossible, and the child must be allowed to be born through either a caesarean section or normal delivery, a decision left to medical experts. The parents argued that childbirth would have severe consequences on the girl's physical and mental well-being. In its December 22 order, the court allowed the petitioners to seek continuous assistance from doctors at the nearby Government Medical College. Gujarat Man, 2 Daughters, Son Die By Suicide After Jumping In Front Of Train

A man, his two daughters and a son allegedly committed suicide on Sunday by jumping in front of a train in Botad district in Gujarat, an official said. The incident took place at 6:30pm between Ningala and Alampur railway stations, Railway Protection Force sub inspector VS Gole said. "As part of a suicide pact, the four jumped in front of a passenger train on its way from Bhavnagar to Gandhidham. The bodies of the man, his two daughters and a son were found along the tracks," he said. The man, identified as Mangabhai Vijuda (42), was out on bail after getting arrested on charges of attempt to murder following a fight with a relative, as per police. The others who died are his daughters Sonam (17) and Rekha (21) and son Jignesh (19). They belonged to Nana Sakhpar village in the district's Gadhada taluka, he said.
