मुंबई: बंदूक दिखाकर ज्वेलरी शॉप में लूटपाट करने आए एक शख्स को मुंबई पुलिस की क्राइम ब्रांच की यूनिट 9 ने गिरफ्तार किया है. वारदात 2 अगस्त को  बांद्रा के एक ज्वेलरी शॉप की है. लूटपाट की यह घटना ज्वैलरी शॉप में लगे सीसीटीवी कैमरे में कैद हो गई थी. गिरफ्तार आरोपी का नाम रियाज अहमद अब्दुल गनी है, जो जम्मू-कश्मीर का रहने वाला है. Former West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee continued to remain on intermittent non-invasive ventilator support on the eighth day since he was admitted, the hospital informed on Saturday. Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla was on Friday given another one-year extension, his fourth in the post, till August 22, 2024, according to a Personnel Ministry order. Ajay Kumar Bhalla, a 1984-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Assam-Meghalaya cadre, was appointed home secretary in August 2019. He was to retire in November 2020 after attaining 60 years of age. His tenure was first extended on October 17, 2020 till August 22, 2021. Subsequently, his term was extended for one-year each in 2021 and in 2022. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the extension in service of Mr Bhalla for a further period of one year beyond August 22, 2023 i.e. up to August 22, 2024, the order said. The latest extension will allow Mr Bhalla to stay in the post during the general elections due early next year. An under-construction underpass collapsed near Dhanwapur railway cross number 26 in Gurugram on Thursday evening, said an official. Some labourers are feared to be trapped under the debris, and a rescue operation is underway. "An under-construction underpass near Dhanwapur railway cross number 26 in Gurugram collapsed this evening. We have received information about some labourers being trapped under the debris. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of 21 railway stations across Telangana on August 6 virtually under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, Union Minister for Tourism G Kishan Reddy said on Thursday. The Delhi High Court Thursday said scheduled maintenance cannot be understood to include flying of aircraft and restrained crisis-hit Go First airline to continue with maintenance flights. The high court said the resolution professional (RP) appointed under the insolvency law to manage the airline has not been able to show any urgency or any grave imminent threat to the aircraft compelling the RP to fly them suddenly and without any prior notice. Justice Tara Vitasta Ganju, who had on July 28 directed that the status quo be maintained in respect of handling/non-revenue flights of the petitioner lessors' aircraft till August 3, extended the interim order till further orders. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday announced the release of Rs 400 crore under the CRIF for the repair and restoration work in flood-hit Himachal Pradesh. Terming the damage in the recent floods as colossal and unprecedented, Mr Gadkari assured all possible help for restoration works.  Besides restoration of four-lane roads and national highways, expenditure on restoration of damaged link roads and bridges on 1-km stretches would be borne by National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), the Union minister said. The restoration work would also be covered under the Setu Bandhan programme under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF), according to the minister. Under the CRIF, the Union ministry allocates funds for the development and maintenance of state roads.
