Information and Broadcasting Secretary Apurva Chandra was appointed the Health Secretary as part of a top-level bureaucratic reshuffle effected by the Centre on Saturday. Mr Chandra is a 1988-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Maharashtra cadre. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved Chandra's appointment as the Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare, an order issued by the Personnel Ministry said. Senior bureaucrat Sanjay Jaju has been appointed as the new Information and Broadcasting Secretary in place of Mr Chandra. Mr Jaju, a 1992-batch IAS officer, is currently serving in his cadre state of Telangana. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, a 1988-batch (retired) IAS officer of Uttarakhand cadre, has been named Secretary to the anti-corruption ombudsman Lokpal on contract basis for a period of one year, it said. The Ministry of Law and Justice on Friday notified the appointment of Chief Justices of Meghalaya, Allahabad, Gauhati, Orissa, Uttrakhand, Rajasthan, and Punjab and Haryana High Court. For the Meghalaya High Court, the notification issued stated that, in the exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Justice S Vaidyanathan, Judge of the Madras High Court, to be Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court, with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office. For Allahabad High Court, the notification stated that, in the exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Justice Arun Bhansali, Judge, Rajasthan High Court, to be the Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court, with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office. The newly formed NDA government in Bihar, headed by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, will seek the trust vote on February 12, the inaugural day of the budget session, according to a revised notification issued on the matter on Thursday. Earlier, the less-than-a-week-old government was scheduled to seek the vote of confidence on February 10. However, according to a fresh notification, the session will now commence on February 12 which will also witness the governor's address to a joint session of members of both Houses. दिल्‍ली-एनसीआर (Delhi-NCR) में गैंगस्‍टरों की हत्‍याओं का सिलसिला थमने का नाम नहीं ले रहा है. आलम यह है कि पिछले कुछ वक्‍त में एक के बाद एक गैंगस्‍टरों की हत्‍या की जा रही है. हाल ही में लॉरेंस बिश्‍नोई गैंग के शूटर राजन की हरियाणा के यमुना नगर में हत्‍या कर दी गई थी. यह मामला चर्चा में ही था कि अब लॉरेंस बिश्‍नोई गैंग से जुड़े कपिल सागवान उर्फ नंदू गैंग के खासमखास गैंगस्‍टर सूरजभान उर्फ बालू की फरीदाबाद में गोली मारकर हत्‍या कर दी गई है.  पुलिस के मुताबिक, सूरजभान अपनी बहन से मिलने के लिए फरीदाबाद आया था, जहां पर अज्ञात हमलावरों ने उसकी हत्या कर दी. फरीदाबाद के सेक्टर 11 में सूरजभान पर 15 से 20 राउंड फायर किए गए. उसकी मौके पर ही मौत हो गई.  सूचना मिलने के बाद पुलिस मौके पर पहुंची. क्राइम ब्रांच और फॉरेंसिक टीम जांच में जुटी है. फरीदाबाद के पुलिस कमिश्नर राकेश कुमार आर्य भी मौके पर पहुंचे और घटनास्‍थल का जायजा लिया. इस मामले में हमलावरों की संख्‍या दो बताई जा रही है. पुलिस के मुताबिक, वह इस मामले में दो एंगल से जांच कर रही है.  पुलिस सूत्रों के मुताबिक, सूरजभान अमेरिका...
