Days after a woman from Spain was allegedly gang raped in Jharkhand, the Ministry of External Affairs on Friday said the matter is "under investigation" and several people have been arrested. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said this in response to a query on the case at his weekly media briefing here. The tourist from Spain was allegedly gang raped in Jharkhand's Dumka district, police had said on March 2. "As you know, the matter is under investigation. Several people have been arrested," Jaiswal told reporters. In his response, the spokesperson also said, "And, you would have also see that the High Court of Jharkhand, suo motu has taken action on this particular matter." Some reports refer to the act of cognisance by the court. Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij on Wednesday said the case of INLD leader Nafe Singh Rathee's killing has been transferred to the CBI by the state government. "In the INLD leader's murder case, our police have been taking action and two accused were arrested," he said. The Haryana home minister said that last month he had assured the state Assembly that the murder case would be handed over to the central probe agency. "And we have transferred the case to the CBI," he said. Nafe Singh Rathee and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) worker Jai Kishan were killed after multiple rounds were fired on their vehicle in Bahadurgarh in the state's Jhajjar district on February 25. Two men were arrested from Goa in a joint operation by the Haryana Police's Special Task Force, the district police and the Delhi Police's Special Cell in connection with the killing. A local court here on Tuesday held former MP Dhananjay Singh and one other guilty of kidnapping 'Namami Gange' project manager Abhinav Singhal, demanding extortion, abusing and threatening him. Additional Sessions Judge Sharad Kumar Tripathi, after hearing both the factions, held Singh and his associate Santosh Vikram guilty in the matter. The punishment will be decided on Wednesday. A 40-year-old dental surgeon died by suicide after poisoning his two minor daughters in Jharkhand's Hazaribag district on Monday afternoon, police said. The exact cause has not yet been established, but family feud is suspected to be a reason, a police officer said. Raj Kumar fatally slit his wrist veins after poisoning his two daughters, identified as Anvi Raj (8) and Adhya Raj (5), to death in Bishnu Puri locality under Hazaribag Sadar police station, the officer said. The BJP won all 25 Lok Sabha seats in Rajasthan for two consecutive times and each party candidate will go to Parliament with a margin of five lakh votes this time, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said. 60% of the tickets for the Lok Sabha elections have been finalised and the remaining tickets will be decided upon soon, he said.
