Several Cops Injured During Anti-Waqf Protest Rally In Tripura

Several policemen sustained injuries during a clash between the security personnel and the agitators who held a protest rally against the recently enacted Waqf (Amendment) Act in northern Tripura's Kailashahar under Unakoti district on Saturday afternoon.

The protest, organized by the Kailashahar Joint Action Committee, began from Tilabazar and proceeded towards Kubjhar area as they did not get police permission and decided to organise it outside the municipal area. 

However, upon reaching Kubjhar, the situation escalated allegedly after a shoe was thrown towards the rally, which then took an ugly turn and a clash with police personnel followed. Bricks, stones, and glass bottles were thrown at cops. 

This left Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Jayanta Karmakar, Police Inspector Jatindra Das, and several other officers injured. 

The situation turned chaotic, forcing the police to resort to a mild lathi charge to disperse the crowd. Protesters then fled the scene.

Police forces, including Tripura State Rifles (TSR) personnel and central paramilitary units, deployed in large numbers at the site included Kailashahar Police Station officer-in-charge Sukanta Sen Chowdhury, Irani Police Station OC Arundaya Das, and DSP Utpalendu Debnath.

Following the violence, the injured security personnel were rushed to a local hospital for treatment.

In the aftermath, Unakoti District Superintendent of Police Sudhambika R and Northern Range DIG Rati Ranjan Debnath visited the area to assess the situation. 

While the DIG later confirmed that the situation was under control, but some argument was seen between SP Sudhambika R and opposition Congress leader Md Badruzzaman who led the protest.

While DIG Rati Ranjan Debnath assured that peace had been restored in the area, protest leader Md Badruzzaman claimed that many protesters were injured due to police action and blamed the authorities for provoking the violence.

The incident has triggered fear and unrest across the Kailashahar subdivision, with police maintaining heightened vigil to prevent further disturbances.

President Droupadi Murmu gave her assent to the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025, on April 5, as announced by the Law Ministry in a notification on the same day.

The Bill was recently passed by parliament after intense and lengthy debates in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

The law seeks to improve governance by enhancing transparency in property management, streamlining coordination between Waqf boards and local authorities and protecting stakeholders' rights.

NIA questioned Tahawwur Rana: मुंबई 26-11 आतंकी हमले के मामले में अमेरिका से प्रत्यर्पित होकर भारत लाए गए तहव्वुर राणा से राष्ट्रीय अन्वेषण अभिकरण (NIA) की टीम लगातार पूछताछ कर रही है. शनिवार को तहव्वुर राणा से लगातार दूसरे दिन की पूछताछ हुई. इससे पहले शुक्रवार को NIA ने तहव्वुर राणा करीब तीन घंटे की पूछताछ की थी. सूत्रों ने शनिवार को बताया कि एनआईए अधिकारियों की एक टीम राणा से पूछताछ कर रही है ताकि 16 साल पहले देश को झकझोर देने वाले हमलों के पीछे उसकी वास्तविक भूमिका का पता लगाया जा सके.

हेडली से हुई बातचीत के बारे में हो रही पूछताछ

बताया जा रहा है कि जांच एजेंसी द्वारा जांच के दौरान जुटाए गए विभिन्न सबूतों के आधार पर राणा से पूछताछ की जा रही है, जिसमें उसके और सह-साजिशकर्ता डेविड कोलमैन हेडली उर्फ ​​दाऊद गिलानी के बीच बड़ी संख्या में फोन कॉल शामिल हैं. अमेरिकी नागरिक हेडली वर्तमान में अमेरिका की जेल में बंद है.

उन्होंने बताया कि जांच अधिकारियों को उम्मीद है कि 26 नवंबर 2008 को देश की वित्तीय राजधानी में हुए हमले से पहले उत्तरी और दक्षिणी भारत के कुछ हिस्सों में उसकी यात्राओं के बारे में कुछ महत्वपूर्ण सुराग मिलेंगे.

166 लोगों की मौत का पूरा राज आएगा बाहर

शुक्रवार की सुबह अदालत के फैसले के तुरंत बाद एनआईए द्वारा जारी एक बयान में कहा गया, ‘‘राणा 18 दिनों तक एनआईए की हिरासत में रहेगा, इस दौरान एजेंसी उससे 2008 के घातक हमलों के पीछे की पूरी साजिश का पता लगाने के लिए विस्तार से पूछताछ करेगी, जिसमें कुल 166 लोग मारे गए थे और 238 से अधिक घायल हुए थे.''

गुरुवार को अमेरिका से भारत आते ही हुआ था गिरफ्तार

आतंकवाद रोधी एजेंसी ने अमेरिका से प्रत्यर्पण के बाद राणा के बृहस्पतिवार शाम इंदिरा गांधी अंतरराष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डे पर पहुंचने के बाद उसे औपचारिक रूप से गिरफ्तार कर लिया था और फिर पटियाला हाउस स्थित एनआईए की विशेष अदालत में पेश किया था.

मुबंई हमले जैसी और भी साजिश रची थी

एनआईए ने अदालत में दावा किया कि उसे संदेह है कि राणा ने कई भारतीय शहरों को निशाना बनाने के लिए 26/11 मुंबई हमलों जैसी आतंकी साजिश रची थी. अपने आदेश में अदालत ने एनआईए को हर 24 घंटे में राणा की चिकित्सा जांच कराने और हर दूसरे दिन उसे अपने वकील से मिलने की अनुमति देने का भी निर्देश दिया.

तहव्वुर राणा पर कई आपराधिक मामलों में मुकदमा

राणा पर षड्यंत्र, हत्या, आतंकवादी कृत्य करने और जालसाजी सहित कई अपराधों के आरोप लगाए गए हैं. वर्ष 2009 में मामला दर्ज करने के बाद एनआईए की जांच में हमलों को अंजाम देने में पाकिस्तान स्थित आतंकवादी समूह हरकत-उल जिहादी इस्लामी (हूजी) के आतंकियों की भी भूमिका पाई गई थी.

नालंदा में सबसे ज्यादा 23 लोगों की हुई मौत

India Successfully Conducts Trials Of Long-Range Glide Bomb 'Gaurav'

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully conducted the release trials of the long-range glide bomb "Gaurav" from the Sukhoi aircraft. "Gaurav" is a 1,000-kg class glide bomb designed and developed indigenously by the DRDO.

The trials, conducted from April 8 to April 10, successfully demonstrated a range close to 100 km with pinpoint accuracy, the defence ministry said on Friday.

The trials are paving the way for the induction of the weapon into the Indian Air Force (IAF), it said.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh complimented the DRDO, the IAF and the industry partners concerned for the successful development trials of "Gaurav".

The LRGB has been developed indigenously by the DRDO

He said the development of the long-range glide bomb will further enhance the capabilities of the armed forces to a great extent.

"The DRDO successfully conducted the release trials of Long-Range Glide Bomb (LRGB) 'Gaurav' between April 8 to 10 from Su-30 MKI aircraft," the ministry said.

"During the trials, the weapon was integrated to multiple stations in different warhead configurations, with land target on island," it added.

The LRGB has been developed indigenously by the DRDO's Research Centre Imarat and Armament Research and Development Establishment.

Senior DRDO and IAF officials participated in and reviewed these trials.

"The system has been realised with the support of development-cum-production partners -- Adani Defence Systems and Technologies, Bharat Forge and various MSMEs," the ministry said.

"The trials are paving the way towards induction of the weapon into the IAF," it added.

"The Centre for Military Airworthiness and Certification and Directorate General of Aeronautical Quality Assurance contributed towards certification and quality assurance," the ministry said in a statement.

"Releasing Her..": Man Dies By Suicide After Killing Sick Wife, Leaves Note

In a tragic incident, an 80-year-old city resident allegedly killed his ailing wife and died by suicide in Nashik, police said on Thursday.

Muralidhar Ramchandra Joshi, a retired school principal, said in his purported suicide note that he was "releasing" his wife Lata (76) from her prolonged illness and also himself.

He had been looking after his wife, also a former teacher, with the help of caretaker Seema Rathod for the last four years, said an official of Upnagar police station.

On Wednesday afternoon, Rathod left the couple's house on Jail Road after finishing her morning work. When she returned around 7 and opened the door with her keys, she found the couple dead, the official said.

Joshi seemed to have choked his wife and hanged himself, leaving behind a suicide note, the official said.

"I love my wife Lata very much. She is bed-ridden and fed up with her illness. I am releasing her from her illness and also myself," the note read.

The suicide note lauded Rathod for serving Lata diligently and instructed that she should be paid Rs 50,000 that he has kept aside. "Money for our last rites is kept aside and no one should spend money for our last rites," it said.

The note also said Lata should be adorned with a new saree, Mangalsutra and other jewellery before her last rites.

The couple's two sons have settled down in Mumbai, the official said.

Delhi Records Highest Minimum Temperature In April At 25.6 Celsius In 3 Years

Delhi on Wednesday recorded its highest minimum temperature in April in three years, with the mercury settling at 25.6 degrees Celsius, 5.6 degrees above normal, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

"Yesterday, warm night conditions were observed only at Palam. Today, they have been recorded at all five synoptic stations," the IMD said.

In both 2024 and 2023, the minimum temperature had not touched 25 degrees Celsius, according to the weather department.

The highest minimum temperature in 2024 was 24 degrees Celsius, while in 2023, it was 23.6 degrees, the data shows.

A similar trend was seen in 2022, when the highest minimum temperature was recorded at 26.2 degrees Celsius.

The IMD has forecast a partly cloudy sky and issued a yellow alert for heatwave conditions. The maximum temperature is expected to settle at around 40 degrees Celsius.

The relative humidity at 8.30 am was 51 per cent.

The air quality was recorded in the poor category as the Air Quality Index (AQI) at 9 am was at 233.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), an AQI between zero and 50 is considered 'good', 51 and 100 'satisfactory', 101 and 200 'moderate', 201 and 300 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor', and 401 and 500 'severe'.

Peon Caught Evaluating Answer Sheets In Madhya Pradesh, Principal Suspended

The principal of a government college in Narmadapuram district and a professor were suspended after a viral video purportedly showed a peon evaluating students' answer sheets.

Sources said that aggrieved students had contacted local MLA Thakurdas Nagvanshi, who then lodged a complaint with the authorities.

Responding to the incident, Minister for Youth Affairs and Cooperatives Vishvas Sarang confirmed that the principal and the nodal officer have been suspended.

The minister said action has also been taken against the professor (who was assigned the work to evaluate answer sheets) and the peon.

"Instructions have been given to ensure such incidents do not recur. The government always strives to maintain the quality of higher education. This incident is unfortunate and unforgivable. The strictest action will be taken," he said.

Rakesh Verma, the principal of Pipariya-based Bhagat Singh Government College, claimed that he and Professor Ramgulam Patel were suspended on April 4.

Mr Verma stated that the answer sheet evaluation work had been assigned to a guest teacher, who then handed it over to a peon via a book lifter posted in the college.

A complaint was raised in January this year after the video clip surfaced on social media, Mr Verma added.

He further claimed that Professor Patel had been appointed as the nodal officer for the evaluation work by Raja Shankar Shah University, Chhindwara.

"I was implicated," Mr Verma claimed while sharing a letter related to Patel's appointment as nodal officer of the evaluation work, issued last August.

Mr Verma mentioned that he has written to the Higher Education Department, requesting the revocation of his suspension.

Market Crash Matter Of Concern, India Should Negotiate With US: Shashi Tharoor

Expressing concern over Monday's stock market crash following the US government's decision to impose reciprocal tariff on Indian imports, senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor urged the Centre to start negotiations with that nation on bilateral trade.

Amid fears of a global trade war after US President Donald Trump's decision to impose reciprocal tariff on Indian imports, the Sensex crashed over 2,200 points during the day.

Mr Tharoor, while talking to reporters at the Ahmedabad Airport, said the Indian economy will survive and won't go into recession because of its 5.4 per cent growth.

The Thiruvananthapuram MP is here to take part in the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting on Tuesday and the All India Congress Committee (AICC) session on April 9.

"It (today's market crash) is indeed a matter of great concern. We hope India might get some relief (in tariff) during our future negotiations with the US. But, as of now, this is certainly negative news. Global markets, not just Indian, are severely affected. It seems no one understood Trump's logic behind tariffs because the US stock market has also crashed badly," said the Congress leader.

When asked if such a situation would lead to recession, Mr Tharoor said, "Some countries may go into recession but we are better off because we have 5.4 per cent growth. Therefore it (economy) may come down but it will not go into recession." He said Trump's decision to impose higher tariffs on other countries exporting similar goods to the US can benefit India but "at this stage it is impossible to tell".

"We have to ensure we can quickly start negotiations on bilateral trade agreements, which might reduce the effect of this on our economy and exports. But it depends on how successful those negotiations are," said the former diplomat.

"No one could have foreseen such bad news in two-three days. It was on April 2 when tariffs were announced, today is the 7th. The world has suffered so much during these five days. God knows what lies ahead. All we can do is tighten our belts and see how best we can cope with this," he said.

Gold Smuggling Case: Ranya Rao's Judicial Custody Extended Till April 21

A special Bengaluru court on Monday extended, till April 21, the judicial custody of Kannada actress and gold smuggling case main accused Ranya Rao.

The special court for economic offences also extended the judicial custody of the second accused, Tarun Raju, and the third accused, jeweller Sahil Sakaria Jain, till April 21.

All accused are presently lodged at the Bengaluru Central Jail.

The court, which rejected the bail petition of Tarun Raju, will take up the bail petition of Jain on April 9.

Ranya Rao, the stepdaughter of senior police officer Ramchandra Rao, was arrested on March 3 for allegedly smuggling 14.2 kilograms of gold, valued at over Rs 12.56 crore.

The case is presently being investigated by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), the Enforcement Directorate (ED), and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

The state government has set up a special team led by a senior IAS officer to look into the role of DGP Ramachandra Rao. The report in this regard has been submitted to the government, sources stated.

The investigation into the gold smuggling case involving Ranya Rao by the DRI has revealed that the actress has been involved in hawala transactions in collusion with Jain, the third accused in the case.

The DRI, in its remand application submitted to the Special Court for Economic Offences in connection with the arrest of Jain in the gold smuggling case, alleged that the jeweller and Ranya Rao were involved in a hawala nexus.

The investigations have found that with the help of Jain, Ranya Rao disposed of 49.6 kg of gold and transferred Rs 38.4 crore of hawala money to Dubai.

The DRI stated: "The investigations have indicated that Jain, hailing from Ballari and settled in Bengaluru, assisted and abetted Ranya Rao in disposing of 49.6 kilograms of gold worth around Rs 40 crore and transferring hawala money of Rs 38.4 crore to Dubai."

Meerut Murder Accused Found Pregnant During Health Check-Up: Official

Muskan Rastogi, who along with her lover is accused of killing her husband and is lodged in a jail here, was found to be pregnant during a preliminary test, officials said on Monday.

Senior Jail Superintendent Viresh Raj Sharma said that health check-up and pregnancy test are done regularly for every female inmate coming to the jail and Muskan's test was also a part of this process.

He said that he has not received the report of the doctors yet and has just received verbal information that Muskan is pregnant.

Chief Medical Officer Dr Ashok Kataria said that Muskan was given a preliminary test, which confirmed her pregnancy.

He said that the next step would be an ultrasound test, which will clarify the condition and duration of the pregnancy.

Saurabh Rajput, a former Merchant Navy officer, was killed on the night of March 4 at his house in Indiranagar in Meerut district. His wife, Muskan, and her lover, Sahil, are accused of drugging him and stabbing him to death.

It is alleged they dismembered his body, severing his head and hands, and hid them in a blue drum filled with cement.

The investigation into the sensational case has revealed that Muskan had allegedly been planning the murder since November 2023.

Both the accused are currently in judicial custody. Muskan is engaged in sewing work in the jail, while Sahil is involved in agricultural work. Both have also been included in the rehabilitation process with the help of a drug de-addiction centre.

Tahawwur Rana's Last Plea Against Extradition To India Rejected By US Court

The US Supreme Court has denied 26/11 Mumbai terror attack accused Tahawwur Rana's last application seeking a stay on his extradition to India, moving him closer to being handed over to Indian authorities to face justice.

The three-day attacks on hotels, a train station and a Jewish center in Mumbai in which 166 people were killed began on November 26, 2008. India says Pakistan-based Islamist group Lashkar-e-Taiba orchestrated the attacks. Pakistan's government denies being involved.

Tahawwur Rana, a Canadian citizen of Pakistani origin who was based in Chicago, was convicted in 2011 and later sentenced to 13 years in prison. He is currently lodged in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles.

The 64-year-old is known to be associated with Pakistani-American terrorist David Coleman Headley, one of the main conspirators of the 26/11 attacks. Headley conducted a recce of Mumbai before the attacks by posing as an employee of Rana's immigration consultancy.

He was convicted in the US of one count of conspiracy to provide material support to the terrorist plot in Denmark and one count of providing material support to Pakistan-based terrorist organisation Lashker-e-Taiba which was responsible for the attacks in Mumbai.

Rana had submitted an "Emergency Application For Stay Pending Litigation of Petition For Writ of Habeas Corpus" on February 27, with Elena Kagan, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the US and Circuit Justice for the Ninth Circuit.

Earlier last month, the judge had denied the application.

Rana had then renewed his "Emergency Application for Stay Pending Litigation of Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus previously addressed to Justice Kagan," and requested that the renewed application be directed to Chief Justice Roberts.

Today, a notice on the Supreme Court website said, "Application denied by the Court." 

During a joint press conference with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the White House in February this year, President Donald Trump announced that his administration has approved the extradition of "very evil" Rana, wanted by Indian law enforcement agencies for his role in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, "to face justice in India".

"I am pleased to announce that my administration has approved the extradition of one of the plotters and one of the very evil people of the world, having to do with the horrific 2008 Mumbai terrorist attack to face justice in India. So he is going to be going back to India to face justice," Trump had said.

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Sunday made a fervent appeal to the youth of Bihar to participate in the White T-Shirt movement, beginning Monday, in huge numbers to send across a strong message that people of the state won't get swayed away anymore and they are ready to write their own destiny.

The Leader of Opposition issued a video appeal on his social media account, seeking success of the White T-shirt movement in Bihar, ahead of his visit to Bihar's Begusarai district on April 7.

"The Stop Migration, Give Jobs Yatra will give the world a glimpse of your struggle, suffering and also the sentiments of Bihar's youth," he said in the video message and urged them to 'show their strength'.

"This message is for every resident of Bihar. I will visit Begusarai on April 7. I will walk shoulder to shoulder with you and raise your voice on issues of inflation, unemployment, privatisation, paper leaks and all other issues that adversely affect you and your families," he said in the video.

The purpose of the 'Palayan Yatra' is to mobilise the energy of youth to build a new Bihar and make it a land of fresh opportunities.

"Bihar youth won't be misled now or bow down before anyone. They will move together and build a new future for themselves," he said while appealing youth to share the video among their circles.

Rahul's visit to Bihar, where Assembly elections are slated later this year, comes days after the Congress party declared new district presidents in the state. AICC appointed new presidents and working presidents in all 40 organisational districts of Bihar last week.

During his visit, Mr Gandhi is also expected to review the party's poll strategy with all new district heads and draw a roadmap for upcoming elections.

Meanwhile, the BJP has objected sharply to Congress MP's visit to Bihar and said that this will end in another fiasco for the party.

"Rahul Gandhi has drowned the entire Congress ship. He will do the same in Bihar too. Wherever he goes, Congress sinks. Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Delhi are some examples. I thank Rahul Gandhi for sinking the Congress ship and wasting his youth in doing so. He has turned into a 55-year-old youth now. He will sink Congress in Bihar too," BJP state chief Dilip Jaiswal said mockingly, while speaking to IANS.

Massive Rabies Outbreak In Manipur, Three Dead, Hundreds Affected

Multiple cases of rabies have been reported from Manipur's Churachandpur, after which authorities have put restrictions in place and declared containment zones.

The cases of rabies started surfacing since last week and New Zouveng village in Churachandpur district has been declared a containment zone.

Since January, 749 people have been bitten by dogs and 3 persons, according to official sources, have died due to rabies.

Multiple confirmed and suspected cases of rabies have now been reported from New Zoveng village, posing a serious threat to the health and safety of the people and animals, sources said.

District Magistrate Dharun Kumar has strictly prohibited the movement of "domesticated pets/dogs in and out of the village".

He also directed the identification and vaccination of all pet and stray dogs in the village.

Surveillance, door-to-door monitoring, and health check-ups will be conducted. The sale and transport of domestic dogs are strictly banned during the containment period, he added.

Any person found violating the order will be liable for penal action, the order said.

Quick Response Teams constituted by the Veterinary department carried out surveys at the New Zouveng village.

During the drive, about 30 households have been surveyed.

The survey teams have vaccinated all the dogs owned by the households and provided them with a certificates.

District Veterinary Officer, Dr Veithienneng, has said insufficient supply of vaccine is the biggest challenge in tackling the outbreak.

Every year, rabies claims over 60,000 lives globally, with India alone accounting for nearly 36 percent of those deaths, according to the UNDP (United Nations Development Programme).

India-US Joint Training Exercise 'Tiger Triumph' Boosts Military Cooperation

In a significant demonstration of India-US military cooperation, troops from both nations conducted an intensive joint training phase at the Duvvada Firing Range from April 2 to April 4 as part of Exercise Tiger Triumph 2025.

According to a release, the exercise reaffirmed the growing synergy between the two militaries, enhancing interoperability, tactical coordination and operational preparedness in combat and humanitarian assistance scenarios.

The release noted that the training began with a joint opening address by the commanding officers of both contingents, setting the tone for a collaborative and high-impact engagement.

This was followed by an introduction from the Commanding Officer of the 8 Gorkha Rifles Infantry Battalion Group, which represented the Amphibious Brigade of the Bison Division under the Sudarshan Chakra Corps.

The US Army contingent, comprising personnel from the 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment ("Bobcats") and the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 11th Infantry Division ("Arctic Wolves"), received insights into Indian Army training methodologies and the objectives of this joint exercise.

As per the release, "A key highlight of the training was the participation of Rear Admiral Greg Newkirk, USN, who, along with the Commanding Officer of the 8 Gorkha Rifles Infantry Battalion Group, took part in live-firing drills and Jungle Lane Shooting exercises. Their direct involvement underscored the emphasis on hands-on leadership and practical engagement in operational training. The event also saw participation from senior officers from HQ Eastern Naval Command and HQ Integrated Defence Staff (IDS), further strengthening the high-level commitment to bilateral defense cooperation."

The release said, "The training phase covered small arms marksmanship and jungle warfare tactics, with Indian and US soldiers paired as buddy teams for live-firing drills from 100 meters, close-quarters combat shooting at 50 meters and Jungle Lane Shooting exercises designed to simulate engagements in dense terrain. Additionally, troops underwent Integrated Field Craft (IFC) training, focusing on obstacle navigation, tactical movement and terrain-based combat techniques--essential skills for real-world operations. The Combat Medical Aid module provided crucial training in battlefield first aid and casualty evacuation procedures, ensuring rapid and efficient medical response in crisis situations."

According to the release, the joint training at Duvvada Firing Range further solidified India-US military ties, fostering mutual respect, trust and camaraderie between troops.

Tiger Triumph 2025 continued to reinforce the India-US strategic partnership, enhancing their combined ability to respond to regional security challenges and humanitarian crises in the Indian Ocean Region.

Agra Man Allegedly Harasses Czech Tourist At Taj Mahal, Arrested

A man was arrested for allegedly harassing and touching inappropriately a tourist from the Czech Republic visiting the Taj Mahal, police said on Sunday.

The alleged incident occurred on April 3 and the arrest was made after a thorough investigation, they said.

In a written complaint at the Tourist police station, the woman alleged that she was "touched inappropriately and harassed" while walking along the Shamshan Ghat Road around 1 pm, they added.

The police registered a case and began a probe, deploying multiple teams to arrest the accused.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (Taj Security) Syed Areeb Ahmed said, "A case was registered on the complaint of the foreign woman. Several teams were deployed to search for the accused. (Footage from) several CCTV cameras covering the area was scanned. After investigation, the accused Karan Rathore was arrested on Sunday."

The woman has identified Rathore as the accused and he has been taken into custody, the officer said.
