Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday said India is looking for a "good" trade agreement with the US to promote economic growth and ensure smooth supply chains. She also said that amid a growing global tariff war, India will have to move "smartly" to guard against possible dumping of goods from countries that are facing higher US tariffs. At the same time, India will protect the interests of domestic industries that rely on affordable imports. "In a broad sense, I think, both sides should have ambition for a good treaty, and nobody can fault that. A transport aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) was involved in a "serious incident" after landing in West Bengal's Bagdogra, sources said. The crew is safe, they said. The Russian-origin aircraft, An-32, which was involved in the incident today, is the backbone of the IAF's transport operations. Thousands of people under the banner of the Arunachal Christian Forum held a peaceful protest today near Itanagar against the implementation of the Arunachal Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act 1978, an anti-conversion law. Though passed by the state in 1978 and President's assent received, this law was not implemented in Arunachal Pradesh for over four decades. But in September 2024, the the Itanagar Bench of the Gauhati High Court, after hearing a petition, ordered the government to frame rules for this within six months. ACF president Tarh Miri said over two lakh Christians, cutting across denominations, had gathered at Borum today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday met a Japanese business delegation and said he is looking forward to deepening economic collaboration with Japan, India's special strategic and global partner. A man from Uttar Pradesh has ended his life in Mangaluru, claiming he was deceived and exploited by a CISF woman officer. Abhishek Singh, 40, who is from Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, was discovered dead in a lodge near Rao & Rao Circle.  Before taking the step, he recorded a 20-minute video, blaming the woman for his death and uploaded it on Instagram. Singhvi, who worked for a private company in Chennai, had come to Mangaluru with colleagues to attend an exhibition. In the video, he accused CISF Assistant Commandant Monika Sihag of misleading him. राष्ट्र के सामाजिक विकास के तहत सरकारी ई-मार्केटप्लेस (जीईएम) ने स्टार्टअप्स को 35,950 करोड़ रुपये के ऑर्डर पूरे करने में सक्षम बनाया है. इस बारे में रविवार को आधिकारिक जानकारी दी गई. महिला उद्यमियों की हिस्सेदारी जीईएम पर कुल विक्रेता आधार में 8 प्रतिशत है, जिसमें कुल 1,77,786 उद्यम-वेरिफाइड महिला सूक्ष्म और लघु उद्यम (एमएसई) जीईएम पोर्टल पर रजिस्टर्ड हैं, जिन्होंने कुल 46,615 करोड़ रुपये के ऑर्डर पूरे किए हैं. वाणिज्य और उद्योग मंत्रालय के अनुसार, लेटेस्ट आंकड़े बाजार में महत्वपूर्ण एक्टिविटी को दर्शाते हैं, जिसमें 162,985 प्राथमिक खरीदार, 228,754 द्वितीयक खरीदार और 11,006 प्रोडक्ट कैटेगरी और 332 सर्विस कैटेगरी की डायवर्स रेंज के साथ एक मजबूत इकोसिस्टम प्रदर्शित होता है. पिछले वित्त वर्ष में, ऑर्डर की मात्रा 62,86,543 तक पहुंच गई, जिसका ऑर्डर मूल्य 4,03,305 करोड़ रुपये था. अपनी गति को जारी रखते हुए, चालू वित्त वर्ष में पहले ही 4,52,594 करोड़ रुपये के 61,23,691 ऑर्डर दर्ज किए जा चुके हैं. मंत्रालय ने कहा कि कुल ऑर्डर मूल्य का 37.87 प्रतिशत माइक्रो और लघु उद्यमों (एमएसई) को दिया गया ...

A case has been registered against six students and two teachers of a government higher secondary school here in connection with an alleged incident of itching powder being thrown on a girl student last month, police said on Sunday. A cop from Infopark police station said the case was registered on Saturday based on a complaint by the girl, who alleged that the itching powder was thrown on her in the first week of February. The teachers have been booked under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, while the students have been charged under the Juvenile Justice Act, police said. The incident came to light after the girl and her mother spoke about it on a TV channel. Recounting the incident, the girl said she was resting her head on the desk after an exam when some students allegedly started throwing itching powder around, some of which fell on her.
