Two unclaimed boxes were recovered from the parking lot of Karnataka's Shivamogga railway station this evening, a police official said. A bomb disposal team was called to the spot, the police added. The boxes triggered a bomb scare in the city. "Made in Bangladesh, food grains and sugars" was written on the boxes, Shivamogga Superintendent of Police GK Mithun Kumar said. The police are investigating who placed the boxes, he said. Barricades and sandbags were placed around the boxes to stop people from coming near them, he said. The police will open the boxes after the bomb disposal team arrives from Bengaluru, he added. Further details are awaited. Three days before the first phase of polling in Chhattisgarh, Maoists have killed a BJP leader who was campaigning for the elections, police said. Ratan Dubey was the vice-president of the BJP's Narayanpur district unit. The incident took place on Saturday in Kaushalnar area of the district. Mr Dubey represented the area in the zilla panchayat.  Police said Dubey had gone to the Kaushalnar market area to campaign for the BJP and he was murdered with an axe. The Maoists had recently released a press note warning people against participating in the elections. Four people, including three women, were killed while seven suffered injuries when a pick-up van they were travelling in fell into a gorge in Himachal Pradesh's Mandi district on Wednesday evening, police said. The vehicle, travelling from Lagdhar to Kotli, had 11 occupants at the time of the accident, they said. Police said the driver lost control over the vehicle near Ghanyara in Kotli, about 26 km from Mandi, adding that the accident took place when they were returning after attending a marriage function. Three of the dead people were identified as Chinta Devi, Chandra Devi and Mast Ram while one woman is yet to be identified, police said, adding the injured have been referred to Mandi's Zonal Hospital. The Aam Aadmi Party claimed today that there are apprehensions that the Enforcement Directorate, or ED, will arrest Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on November 2 after questioning him in a money laundering case linked to the alleged excise policy scam. Delhi's ruling party also alleged that the BJP is trying to finish it off by jailing its top leaders.
