Earthquake : अफगानिस्तान और पाकिस्तान में दहशत, लोग बिना जूते-चप्पल पहने बच्चों को लेकर भागे

Earthquake : अफगानिस्तान (Afghanistan) में आए तेज भूकंप के झटके पाकिस्तान के साथ भारत के भी कई इलाकों में महसूस किए गए. करीब 30 सेंकेड तक आए भूकंप की तीव्रता संयुक्त राज्य भूवैज्ञानिक सर्वेक्षण (United States Geological Survey) ने 6.5 आंकी है. काबुल के 50 वर्षीय निवासी खटेरा ने राजधानी में अपने पांच मंजिला अपाटमेंट से बाहर निकलने के बाद बताया, 'यह एक भयानक भूकंप था. मैंने अपने जीवन में पहले कभी ऐसा झटका महसूस नहीं किया था.' वहीं USGS ने कहा कि भूकंप पूर्वाेत्तर अफगानिस्तान में जुर्म के पास केंद्रित था और इसकी गहराई 187 किलोमीटर (116 मील) थी. 

यह क्षेत्र अक्सर भूकंपों से प्रभावित होता है - विशेष रूप से हिंदू कुश पर्वत श्रृंखला में, जो यूरेशियन और भारतीय टेक्टोनिक प्लेटों के मध्य में स्थित है. अभी तक किसी के हताहत होने या नुकसान की रिपोर्ट नहीं है, लेकिन भूकंप अफगानिस्तान, पाकिस्तान और यहां तक ​​कि भारत के कुछ हिस्सों में में भी महसूस किया गया. 

अफगानिस्तान सरकार के प्रवक्ता जबीहुल्लाह मुजाहिद ने ट्वीट किया, "ईश्वर का शुक्र है, अब तक हताहतों की कोई बुरी खबर नहीं है. हमें उम्मीद है कि देश के सभी नागरिक सुरक्षित हैं." उन्होंने कहा कि देश भर के स्वास्थ्य केंद्रों को हाई अलर्ट पर रखा गया है. 

पाकिस्तान में भूकंप के झटके से डरे हुए लोग अपने घरों से बाहर निकल आए. पाकिस्तान के रावलपिंडी में एएफपी के एक संवाददाता ने कहा, "लोग अपने घरों बाहर भागे और कुरान का पाठ करने लगे."

शहर के सेवानिवृत्त प्रोफेसर इखलाक काजमी ने कहा कि उनका पूरा घर हिलने लगा.  उन्होंने कहा, 'बच्चे चिल्लाने लगे कि भूकंप आया है और हम सब भागे.'

पाकिस्तान के प्रधानमंत्री शहबाज शरीफ ने राष्ट्रीय आपदा प्रबंधन प्राधिकरण को किसी भी आपात स्थिति से निपटने के लिए तैयार रहने का आदेश दिया है.

भूकंप के समय अफगानिस्तान में कई परिवार फारसी नव वर्ष नवरूज का जश्न मना रहे थे. घर के अंदर रहने वाले भी जल्दी से अपने घरों और अपार्टमेंट से बाहर निकल आए. एएफपी के एक संवाददाता ने कहा, "वे बिना जूते पहने और अपने बच्चों को हाथों में लेकर भागे." 

अफगानिस्तान में पिछले करीब ढाई दशक में सबसे घातक भूकंप पिछले साल 22 जून को पक्तिका प्रांत में आया था. 5.9 तीव्रता के भूकंप के कारण 1,000 से अधिक लोग मारे गए थे और हजारों लोग बेघर हो गए थे. 

पिछले महीने दक्षिणपूर्वी तुर्की और सीरिया के कुछ हिस्सों में आए भूकंप से 55,000 से अधिक लोग मारे गए थे.

2nd Anti-Submarine Warfare Craft Launched In Kolkata

The second anti-submarine warfare shallow water craft (ASW SWC) named INS Androth was launched at Garden Reach Ship Builders in Kolkata

It is used to protect the coastal low draft region wherever they are deployed. The first one Arnala was launched last year.

The primary role of the ASW SWC is to conduct anti-submarine operations in coastal waters, Low Intensity Maritime Operations (LIMO) and mine laying operations. These ships are also capable of full-scale sub surface surveillance of coastal waters and various surface platforms and coordinated ASW operations with aircraft.

The INS Androth highlighted the strategic importance of the chain of 36 islands in the Arabian Sea that are integral part of Indian territory.

These ships are 77.6 meters long and 10.5 meters wide and require a draught of only 2.7 metres. Propelled by three diesel-driven water jets, these ships can attain a maximum speed of 25 knots.

These ships may be smaller in size but will pack a lethal punch. They will carry lightweight torpedoes, ASW rockets and mines, close-in weapon system (30 mm gun) and 16.7 mm stabilised remote-controlled guns. The ASW SWC will be fitted with hull mounted sonar and a low frequency variable depth sonar.

Man Who Drove Amritpal Singh On Two-Wheeler A Close Aide: Sources

The man driving Amritpal Singh on a two-wheeler has been identified, police sources said, hours after security footage from various CCTV cameras revealed how the Khalistani leader managed to evade the police and get away. Sources said the bearded and turbaned man driving the Bajaj Platina motorcycle is Pappalpreet Singh, a former journalist from Amritsar and a close aide of Amritpal Singh. They described him as the main force behind the Khalistani leader, who came on the police radar last month after his supporters had an armed clash with the police.

Amritpal Singh has been on the run for three days, going underground on Saturday, when the Punjab Police launched a manhunt for him. On Day One, he changed clothes and vehicles at least twice. From a Mercedes, he switched to a Maruti Brezza and from that, to a two-wheeler.

In footage accessed exclusively by NDTV, the 30-year-old is seen exiting the Maruti Brezza and speeding towards Jalandhar city with four accomplices on two motor bikes. The exchange took place on a narrow, empty road running through lush green fields. Sources said it was a rural area in Jalandhar district. Barring them, no one appeared to be in sight.

While the man now identified as Pappalpreet Singh drove Amritpal Singh, three others were seen taking another bike. This is the footage where he is seen last.

A video clip from Saturday morning showed him at a toll booth in Jalandhar. The car, where he occupied the front seat, was the white Maruti Brezza, in place of the Mercedes SUV he was using initially.

The Mercedes was found abandoned at a village in Jalandhar's Shahkot. The police recovered a private walkie talkie, rifle, 57 live cartridges, a sword, and scores of registration number plates.

Four men have been arrested for helping the Khalistani leader, who, the police now say, had links with Pakistan intelligence agency ISI. The arrested men, during questioning, revealed that Amritpal Singh went to Nangal Ambian gurdwara, where he changed his clothes for a second time and shortly after, switched to bikes.

The Punjab Police have invoked the stringent National Security Act against Amritpal Singh, claimed a petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court. While hearing it, Justice NS Shekhawat slammed the state police, questioning how one man can escape an 80,000-strong police force.

An offence has been registered against a 23-year-old man for allegedly endangering lives by performing a drifting stunt in an expensive car on a busy road in Madhya Pradesh's Indore, police said on Monday. The video of the stunt, which was performed recently, has gone viral on social media.

In the video, the car driver is seen performing a dangerous "drifting" stunt at night on a busy road in the Lasudia area.

The stunt involves driving a car at a high speed in a circular manner at a particular spot.

A case has been registered against the car driver under section 279 (rash driving on a public way) of the Indian Penal Code and relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, sub-inspector of traffic police Kazim Hussain Rizvi said.

The expensive car used in the stunt has been seized, he said.

A video of the stunt was sent to the traffic police on Sunday, following which a probe was initiated, the official said.

Acting on the traffic police's letter, the transport department has suspended the accused man's license for three months, he said.

"The manner in which the accused was performing a car-drifting stunt on a busy road could have resulted in a fatal accident. It could have not only put the driver's life in danger, but also endangered the lives of other people," the official said.

भोपाल गैस त्रासदी: कोर्ट के फैसले से नाराज NGO ने पीड़ितों के लिए की मुआवजे की मांग

भोपाल गैस पीड़ितों के हितों के लिए काम करने वाले पांच एनजीओ (गैर सरकारी संगठनों) ने उच्चतम न्यायालय द्वारा सुधारात्मक याचिका को खारिज किए जाने पर नाराजगी व्यक्त करते हुए केंद्र सरकार से पीड़ितों को पर्याप्त मुआवजा दिए जाने की मांग की है. सुधारात्मक याचिका में गैस पीड़ितों के लिए यूनियन कार्बाइड कॉरपोरेशन (यूसीसी) की उत्तराधिकारी कंपनियों से 7,844 करोड़ रुपये के अतिरिक्त मुआवजे की मांग की गयी थी.

भोपाल में दिसंबर 1984 में हुए गैस कांड में तीन हजार लोगों की मौत हो गयी थी और हजारों लोग इससे बीमार हो गए. गैस पीड़ितों के लिए अतिरिक्त मुआवजे की मांग करने वाली याचिका को शीर्ष अदालत द्वारा 14 मार्च को खारिज कर दिया गया था. 

‘भोपाल ग्रुप फॉर इंफॉर्मेशन एंड एक्शन' की रचना ढींगरा ने पीटीआई-भाषा को बताया, 'न्यायाधीशों ने इस बुनियादी तथ्य की अनदेखी की है कि यूनियन कार्बाइड के जहरीले कचरे से भोपाल में भूजल प्रदूषित हुआ है, जिसका 1984 गैस हादसे से कोई संबंध नहीं है. उन्होंने इस बात को नज़रअंदाज़ किया कि यूनियन कार्बाइड द्वारा गैस हादसे से पहले और बाद में भी हज़ारों टन जहरीले कचरे को असुरक्षित तरीके से कारखाने के अंदर और बाहर डाला गया, जिसकी वजह से आज भी कारखाने के आसपास भूजल प्रदूषित है.”

ढींगरा ने आरोप लगाया “साथ ही उनके द्वारा कारखाने की भूमि को उसकी मूल स्थिति में लौटाने की शर्त को भी नजरअंदाज कर दिया गया, जिसके तहत यूनियन कार्बाइड ने पट्टे पर जमीन ली थी.” ‘भोपाल गैस पीड़ित महिला स्टेशनरी कर्मचारी संघ' की अध्यक्षा रशीदा बी ने कहा, 'उच्चतम न्यायालय ने यूनियन कार्बाइड के खिलाफ उन दलीलों को नजरअंदाज किया जिसमें कम्पनी ने 1989 में गैस हादसे के मामले को निपटाने के लिए कपटपूर्ण साधन का इस्तेमाल किया था.”

उन्होंने कहा, ‘‘ हमारे वकीलों ने दस्तावजी सबूत पेश किए कि किस तरह यूनियन कार्बाइड के अधिकारियों ने भारत सरकार को इस बात पर गुमराह किया कि एमआईसी गैस की वजह से ज्यादातर गैस पीड़ित केवल अस्थाई रूप से प्रभावित हुए हैं। फैसले में कार्बाइड की धोखाधड़ी के बारे में एक शब्द भी नहीं है.”

‘भोपाल गैस पीड़ित निराश्रित पेंशनभोगी संघर्ष मोर्चा' के बालकृष्ण नामदेव ने कहा, ‘‘ न्यायालय का यह दावा पूरी तरह से झूठा है कि भोपाल के पीड़ितों को 'मोटर वाहन अधिनियम' के तहत प्रदान किए गए मुआवजे की तुलना में छह गुना अधिक मुआवजा मिला है.‘‘

न्यायमूर्ति संजय किशन कौल की अध्यक्षता वाली पांच-न्यायाधीशों की संविधान पीठ ने 14 मार्च को फैसला सुनाते हुए कहा था कि समझौते के दो दशक बाद केंद्र द्वारा इस मुद्दे को उठाने का कोई औचित्य नहीं है. केंद्र ने यूनियन कार्बाइड की उत्तराधिकारी कंपनियों से 7,844 करोड़ रुपये की मांग की थी जबकि 1989 में समझौते के हिस्से के रुप में अमेरिकी कंपनी से 715 करोड़ रुपये प्राप्त हो चुके हैं.

भोपाल गैस पीड़ित महिला पुरुष संघर्ष मोर्चा के अध्यक्ष नवाब खान ने कहा, '34 पन्नों के फैसले में कहीं भी ऐसा कोई संकेत नहीं है कि न्यायाधीशों को कार्बाइड से निकली जहरीली गैस की वजह से स्वास्थ्य पर पहुंची हानि के वैज्ञानिक तथ्यों की थोड़ी भी जानकारी है. इसमें यह दिखाने के लिए कुछ भी नहीं है कि न्यायाधीशों को गैस पीड़ितों को लम्बी और पुरानी बीमारियों के बारे में कोई समझ थी.'

‘चिल्ड्रेन अगेंस्ट डॉव कार्बाइड' की नौशीन खान ने कहा कि शीर्ष अदालत पीड़ितों के साथ सहानुभूति नहीं रखती थी, जबकि फैसले में ऐसा दावा किया गया है और उन्होंने गैस पीड़ितों का प्रतिनिधित्व करने वाले संगठनों के प्रति न्यायालय के रुख की आलोचना हुई.

UP Woman's Rape Planned By Her Father, Stepmother; 2 Arrested: Cops

A woman was allegedly raped by her father's friend and the crime was orchestrated by her father and stepmother in Uttar Pradesh, police said on Monday. The accused father and his friend Rashid have been arrested while the stepmother is missing, they said.

The woman, in her complaint, alleged that her father called his friend to their home on March 13 and her stepmother locked her and Rashid inside a room and he raped her, SP (Rural) Sagar Jain told PTI.

The victim, who is married, said her father and stepmother threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the incident, he said.

The woman alleged that even before her marriage, Rashid had raped her several times in the knowledge of her parents, Jain said.

An FIR has been registered and efforts are on to arrest the missing stepmother, the SP said.
