A woman was beaten up, her three-year-old son was forcibly taken away from her as she was thrown out of her house in Uttar Pradesh's Bhadohi allegedly for not paying dowry, police said on Saturday. Months after the incident that is alleged to have happened in October last year, a case was registered against the woman's husband, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law and sister-in-law on Thursday, they said. Shamshin Rahbar (24), a resident of Gopiganj in Bhadohi district, married Mohammad Saif alias Golu from Kaushambi district in 2020. They have a young child named Ata Ahmed. She has alleged in her complaint that she faced various kinds of harassment to pay a dowry amount of Rs 5 lakh. Manipur's Meitei community began their five-day celebration of Yaoshang, or Holi as it is known in the state, with the burning of straw huts built at the Shri Govindaji temple complex and a few other areas. Yaoshang is one of the biggest festivals of Manipur's Meitei community. Due to the ethnic hostilities, the festival of colours has been restricted to religious and community sports activities associated with the carnival. A gathering of people marked the occasion in the Mantripukhri area, where festivities kicked off with traditional rituals and music. Due to law and order issues, no amusement and entertainment events, including cultural dances, were not organised by civil society groups. A lack of a solid legal framework around the governance and use of space technology remains a huge challenge as India seeks to become a frontline spacefaring nation, a new report has said. 'Unlocking India's Space Economy', released on Wednesday at the Bharat Space Conclave - 2025 in New Delhi and prepared by EY (formerly Ernst and Young) and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) says "regulatory and policy constraints" remain as there is "no comprehensive Space Activities Act". The 50-page report highlights that there are "gaps" in liability and insurance relating to space activities in India and points to "multi agency overlaps" which could slow down decision making in this fast-changing sector.
