Jagan Reddy To Raise Andhra Students' Deportation From US With Centre

In wake of some students from Andhra Pradesh being deported from US, Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has decided to take up the issue with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to resolve it, said an official on Saturday.

An unspecified number of students from the southern state were deported by the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) federal law enforcement agency officials recently from the American airports on landing, reports said.

"Reddy is looking into this matter and will address it to the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India for resolving this at the earliest as all students have a valid USA visa for higher studies…and also keeping in view of the careers of these students of AP," said an official of the state-government body Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu Society (APNRTS) in a statement without divulging details.

Though the students possessed valid visas, the Andhra Pradesh government has said that CBP officials should consider granting entry to the students.

Issuing an advisory, the state government appealed to the students to be prepared to answer any question from the American officials and also carry all proofs on financials and other relevant documents, including understanding non-immigrant visa laws and gaining knowledge about the varsity and course.

Calling the deported students to reach out to it, APNRTS, which also functions as a specialised body for overseas education admission and counselling process has shared its helpline numbers.

शाहरुख की 'जवान' है सबसे महंगी फिल्म 

दशकों से शाहरुख खान अपनी एक्टिंग से दिल जीतते नजर आ रहे हैं. वहीं साल 2023 में पठान देने के बाद वह फैंस के लिए जवान लेकर लौटे हैं. जबकि 300 करोड़ के बजट में बनीं इस फिल्म को SRK की अब तक की सबसे महंगी फिल्म बताया जा रहा है. हालांकि यह फिल्म किंग खान की फैंस की उम्मीदों पर कितना खड़ी रह पाती है यह देखना भी दिलचस्प होगा. 

गौरतलब है कि 7 सितंबर को रिलीज होने जा रही जवान का प्रीव्यू और पहला ट्रैक, जो कि एक डांस नंबर 'जिंदा बंदा' है और दूसरा ट्रैक, जो कि रोमांटिक चलेया रिलीज कर दिया गया है. वहीं इस फिल्म में शाहरुख खान के अलावा नयनतारा, विजय सेतुपति, सान्या मल्होत्रा और अन्य कलाकार अपनी एक्टिंग से दिल जीतने को तैयार हैं.

Taking Drum To Field, Man Leaves It On Tracks After Spotting Train

A man was arrested in Jalna in Maharashtra for allegedly leaving a drum filled with stones on the railway tracks after spotting an incoming train, a police official said on Saturday.

Balu Makhmale (25) was arrested by the Railway Protection Force on Friday in connection with the incident that took place a month ago, he said.

"The drum was spotted by the driver of the Devgiri Express on the Satona-Osmanabad route. He applied emergency brakes and averted an accident. A probe found Makhmale was taking the drum to his field nearby but abandoned it on the tracks after the Devgiri Express reached close by," he said.

अजय मिश्रा टेनी से जुड़ा 23 साल पहले का सपा नेता की हत्या का केस सुप्रीम कोर्ट पहुंचा

उत्तर प्रदेश के लखीमपुर खीरी में 23 साल पुराने प्रभात गुप्ता हत्याकांड का मामला सुप्रीम कोर्ट पहुंच गया है. केंद्रीय मंत्री अजय मिश्रा टेनी से जुड़े इस मामले में इलाहाबाद हाईकोर्ट के आदेश को सुप्रीम कोर्ट में चुनौती दी गई है. प्रभात गुप्ता के भाई इलाहाबाद हाईकोर्ट के आदेश के खिलाफ सुप्रीम कोर्ट पहुंच गए हैं.

इलाहाबाद हाईकोर्ट ने प्रभात गुप्ता हत्याकांड में अजय मिश्रा टेनी को बरी कर दिया था. इलाहाबाद हाईकोर्ट ने यूपी सरकार की याचिका को खारिज कर दिया था. इलाहाबाद हाईकोर्ट ने ट्रायल कोर्ट के टेनी को बरी करने के फैसले को बरकरार रखा था.

लखीमपुर की निचली अदालत ने अजय मिश्रा टेनी को बरी कर दिया था लेकिन निचली अदालत के फैसले के खिलाफ राज्य सरकार ने हाईकोर्ट में अर्ज़ी दाखिल की थी. ट्रायल कोर्ट ने सबूतों के अभाव में टेनी को बरी किया था

साल 2000 में प्रभात गुप्ता की हत्या हुई थी और साल 2004 में ट्रायल कोर्ट ने सबूतों के अभाव में टेनी को बरी किया था. अजय मिश्रा के साथ सुभाष मामा, शशि भूषण, पिंकी और राकेश डालू को भी इस हत्याकांड में हाईकोर्ट से राहत मिल गई थी.

साल 2000 में प्रभात गुप्ता की उत्तर प्रदेश के लखीमपुर खीरी में सरे बाजार घर लौटते समय गोली मारकर हत्या कर दी गई थी. प्रभात गुप्ता समाजवादी पार्टी का युवा नेता था. इस हत्याकांड में अजय मिश्रा टेनी समेत चार लोगों को नामजद किया गया था.

Rajasthan Announces Rs 15 Crore Financial-Aid To Rain-Hit Himachal

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday announced a financial assistance of Rs 15 crore to Himachal Pradesh where heavy rains and landslides have caused massive damage.

"An assistance of Rs 15 crore will be given by the Rajasthan government to help the people suffering from the difficult situation created by heavy rains and landslides in Himachal Pradesh," Mr Gehlot said in a post on X, formerly called Twitter.

Mr Gehlot said the people of Rajasthan are standing with the people of Himachal Pradesh in these difficult circumstances.

This comes after Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel announced a financial assistance of Rs 11 crore to the flood-hit state earlier in the day.

Officials in Himachal Pradesh have said the total number of deaths in rain-related incidents in the state since Sunday night has increased to 75 with Shimla alone accounting for 22 fatalities. 

Heavy rains have hit the hill state since Sunday, triggering landslides in Shimla and several other districts.

Since the onset of the monsoon on June 24, 217 persons have died in rain-related incidents in Himachal Pradesh and 11,301 houses have been partially or completely damaged, according to the state emergency operation centre.

A total of 506 roads are still closed in the state and 408 transformers and 149 water supply schemes have been disrupted.

साउथ इंडस्ट्री के 'थलाइवा' रजनीकांत की फिल्म 'जेलर' की दुनिया में धूम मची है. रजनीकांत भी अपनी इस फिल्म के प्रमोशन में बिजी हैं. अब शनिवार को मेगास्टार रजनीकांत उत्तर प्रदेश के सीएम योगी आदित्यनाथ के साथ लखनऊ में अपनी ही फिल्म देखेंगे.

हाल ही में मीडिया इंटरैक्शन के दौरान साउथ सुपरस्टार ने इस बात की जानकारी शेयर की है. उनसे पूछा गया कि उनकी फिल्म 'जेलर' बॉक्स ऑफिस पर जबरदस्त कमाई कर रही है. उन्होंने कहा कि वे यूपी आए हुए हैं. शनिवार को सीएम योगी आदित्यनाथ के साथ अपनी फिल्म भी देखने जा रहे हैं. रजनीकांत ने कहा कि उनकी फिल्म अच्छा प्रदर्शन कर रही है, क्योंकि सब ऊपरवाले की दुआ है.

रजनीकांत की बात करें तो वे 72 साल के हो चुके हैं. उनकी तमिल फिल्म 'जेलर' 10 अगस्त को दुनियाभर के सिनेमाघरों में रिलीज की गई. इस फिल्म को जबरदस्त रिस्पॉन्स मिल रहा है. फिल्म ने 8 दिनों में दुनियाभर में 470 करोड़ की कमाई कर ली है. ये आंकड़े अपने आप में ही रजनीकांत की लोकप्रियता और उनकी सक्सेस को बयां कर रहे हैं.

"Scripted Production": After Viral Video, Naga Group Denies Sending Arms To Manipur

The largest armed group of the Nagas that have signed a framework agreement with the centre has strongly denied allegations of supplying weapons and sending its cadre to Manipur to help a particular community, amid the ethnic violence between the hill-majority Kukis and the valley-majority Meiteis.

The National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Isak-Muivah), or NSCN(IM), in a statement said a video being shared widely on social media showing a man alleging that NSCN(IM) sent its fighters to help the Meiteis in Manipur was a "scripted production by some mischievous agency".

In the video, the man alleged that 15 well-trained NSCN(IM) fighters are coming to Manipur to join the Meiteis in the fight against the Kukis. The Kuki-Zo-Chin tribes have started demanding a separate administration after violence broke out on May 3 during a protest against the Meiteis' demand for Scheduled Tribes (ST) status.

The NSCN(IM) said the man in the video has been identified as H Khosiivei Lovingson Roah, who joined "national service" in October last year and finished his basic military training earlier this year.

"He is a private in the Naga army posted at Thungbo Brigade. On August 7, 2023, he was granted medical leave for an ear infection and sent to Dimapur, but he went missing since then," the NSCN(IM) said in the statement.

NSCN(IM) senior leader HR Shimray in the statement said the video clip is "evidently a pre-planned and scripted production of some mischievous agency aiming at furthering the mayhem and also painting the NSCN in a bad light."

Ethnic violence between the Kukis and Meiteis broke out in Manipur on May 3

In July this year, six people including an inspector of the Nagaland Police, an armed group leader, and four others were arrested for stealing ammunition from the state police armoury. The ammunition was allegedly to be sent to neighbouring Manipur. One of the arrested people was a leader of the NSCN(IM).

The NSCN (IM), formed in 1980, is led by 85-year-old Thuingaleng Muivah; the other top leader of the group, Isak Chishi Swu, died at 87 of multi-organ failure. In 1997, the NSCN-IM entered into a truce with the central government for peace and since then has been continuing dialogue with the centre's emissaries.

In August 2015, the NSCN-IM signed a framework agreement with the government which Prime Minister Narendra Modi described as a "historic" step to usher in peace in the state.
