In wake of some students from Andhra Pradesh being deported from US, Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has decided to take up the issue with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to resolve it, said an official on Saturday. An unspecified number of students from the southern state were deported by the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) federal law enforcement agency officials recently from the American airports on landing, reports said. "Reddy is looking into this matter and will address it to the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India for resolving this at the earliest as all students have a valid USA visa for higher studies…and also keeping in view of the careers of these students of AP," said an official of the state-government body Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu Society (APNRTS) in a statement without divulging details. A man was arrested in Jalna in Maharashtra for allegedly leaving a drum filled with stones on the railway tracks after spotting an incoming train, a police official said on Saturday. Balu Makhmale (25) was arrested by the Railway Protection Force on Friday in connection with the incident that took place a month ago, he said. "The drum was spotted by the driver of the Devgiri Express on the Satona-Osmanabad route. He applied emergency brakes and averted an accident. उत्तर प्रदेश के लखीमपुर खीरी में 23 साल पुराने प्रभात गुप्ता हत्याकांड का मामला सुप्रीम कोर्ट पहुंच गया है. केंद्रीय मंत्री अजय मिश्रा टेनी से जुड़े इस मामले में इलाहाबाद हाईकोर्ट के आदेश को सुप्रीम कोर्ट में चुनौती दी गई है. प्रभात गुप्ता के भाई इलाहाबाद हाईकोर्ट के आदेश के खिलाफ सुप्रीम कोर्ट पहुंच गए हैं. इलाहाबाद हाईकोर्ट ने प्रभात गुप्ता हत्याकांड में अजय मिश्रा टेनी को बरी कर दिया था. इलाहाबाद हाईकोर्ट ने यूपी सरकार की याचिका को खारिज कर दिया था. इलाहाबाद हाईकोर्ट ने ट्रायल कोर्ट के टेनी को बरी करने के फैसले को बरकरार रखा था. लखीमपुर की निचली अदालत ने अजय मिश्रा टेनी को बरी कर दिया था लेकिन निचली अदालत के फैसले के खिलाफ राज्य सरकार ने हाईकोर्ट में अर्ज़ी दाखिल की थी. ट्रायल कोर्ट ने सबूतों के अभाव में टेनी को बरी किया था साल 2000 में प्रभात गुप्ता की हत्या हुई थी और साल 2004 में ट्रायल कोर्ट ने सबूतों के अभाव में टेनी को बरी किया था. अजय मिश्रा के साथ सुभाष मामा, शशि भूषण, पिंकी और राकेश डालू को भी इस हत्याकांड में हाईकोर्ट से राहत मिल गई थी. साल 2000 में प्रभात गुप्ता की ...

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday announced a financial assistance of Rs 15 crore to Himachal Pradesh where heavy rains and landslides have caused massive damage. "An assistance of Rs 15 crore will be given by the Rajasthan government to help the people suffering from the difficult situation created by heavy rains and landslides in Himachal Pradesh," Mr Gehlot said in a post on X, formerly called Twitter.
