मुंबई: बिल्डिंग से आयरन रॉड गिरने से महिला और 1 लड़की की मौत

मुंबई के जोगेश्वरी में एक निर्माणाधीन इमारत से शनिवार शाम ऑटोरिक्शा पर लोहे की छड़ गिरने से 28 वर्षीय एक महिला और नौ वर्षीय एक लड़की की मौत हो गई. एक अधिकारी ने यह जानकारी दी है. उन्होंने बताया कि घटना वेस्टर्न एक्सप्रेस हाईवे पर शल्य अस्पताल के पास शाम करीब पांच बजे हुई. 

वहीं, पिछले महीने वर्ली इलाके में एक सीमेंट ब्लॉक की चपेट में आने से दो लोगों की मौत हो गई थी, जो एक निर्माणाधीन इमारत से गिरा था. बृहन्मुंबई नगर निगम (बीएमसी) के एक अधिकारी ने कहा कि जिस निर्माणाधीन इमारत में ताजा दुर्घटना हुई, वह झुग्गी पुनर्वास प्राधिकरण (एसआरए) परियोजना थी. उन्होंने कहा कि 14 मंजिला इमारत के सातवीं मंजिल से लोहे की छड़ गिरी है.

रिक्शा में यात्रा कर रहे शमा बानो आसिफ शेख (28) और आयत आसिफ शेख छड़ गिरने से घायल हो गए, जिसमें वे यात्रा कर रहे थे. अधिकारी ने कहा कि एक राहगीर द्वारा सिविक हेल्पलाइन को सूचित करने के बाद उन्हें पहले नजदीकी ट्रॉमा केयर अस्पताल ले जाया गया. अस्पताल में डॉक्टरों ने महिला को मृत घोषित कर दिया, जबकि लड़की को अंधेरी के कोकिलाबेन अस्पताल ले जाया गया. लेकिन कोकिलाबेन अस्पताल के डॉक्टरों ने उन्हें मृत घोषित कर दिया.

गौरतलब है कि गुरुवार को बॉम्बे हाई कोर्ट ने बीएमसी से गगनचुंबी इमारतों के निर्माण में क्रेन के इस्तेमाल के लिए सुरक्षा दिशानिर्देश तैयार करने को कहा था.जस्टिस जी एस कुलकर्णी और जस्टिस आर एन लड्डा की खंडपीठ ने अपने आदेश में कहा कि यह सही समय है जब बीएमसी निर्माण स्थलों पर सुरक्षा आवश्यकताओं पर विशेष ध्यान दे. 14 फरवरी को, मध्य मुंबई के वर्ली में निर्माणाधीन फोर सीज़न प्राइवेट रेजिडेंस प्रोजेक्ट की 52वीं मंजिल से एक बड़ा सीमेंट ब्लॉक गिर गया, जिससे परिसर के बाहर खड़े दो लोगों की मौत हो गई.

डेवलपर द्वारा उचित देखभाल की कमी का आरोप लगाते हुए आस-पास के निवासियों द्वारा दायर याचिका पर एचसी आदेश आया. "हम दृढ़ता से मानते हैं कि किसी व्यक्ति के स्वतंत्र रूप से स्थानांतरित करने का अधिकार, जो वास्तविक निर्माण स्थल नहीं हैं, अगर मारे जाने या चोट लगने के डर से खतरा है, तो यह निश्चित रूप से अनुच्छेद के तहत गारंटीकृत आजीविका के मौलिक अधिकार का उल्लंघन होगा.

बद्री नारायण,अनुराधा रॉय समेत 24 लेखकों को साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार से किया गया सम्मानित

 साहित्य अकादमी ने हिंदी के लिए बद्री नारायण, अंग्रेजी के लिए अनुराधा रॉय और उर्दू के लिए अनीस अशफाक समेत 24 भारतीय भाषाओं के लेखकों को शनिवार को वर्ष 2022 के लिए प्रतिष्ठित साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार से नवाज़ा.इन लेखकों को अकादमी के छह दिवसीय ‘साहित्योत्सव' के पहले दिन आयोजित कार्यक्रम में इस पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया. इस ‘साहित्योत्सव' का उद्धाटन केंद्रीय मंत्री अर्जुन राम मेघवाल ने किया. अकादमी की ओर से शनिवार को जारी एक बयान मुताबिक, अकादमी के आज ही संपन्न हुए चुनाव में माधव कौशिक को अध्यक्ष और कुमुद शर्मा को उपाध्यक्ष चुना गया.

बयान के मुताबिक, मेघवाल ने अकादमी की प्रदर्शनी का उद्घाटन करने के बाद कहा, “हमें समाज में एक ऐसी सकारात्मकता उत्पन्न करनी है जिससे हमारा देश विकासशील की जगह विकसित राष्ट्र की पदवी पा सके.” संस्कृति राज्य मंत्री ने कहा कि कला और साहित्यिक से जुड़ सभी संस्थानों को समाज में रचनात्मक और सकारात्मक परिवेश बनाएं रखने में सहयोग करना चाहिए. शाम में कमानी सभागार में हुए पुरस्कार समारोह में नारायण को हिंदी में उनके कविता संग्रह ‘तुमड़ी के शब्द' के लिए प्रतिष्ठित साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार से नवाजा गया. रॉय को अंग्रेजी में उनके उपन्यास ‘ऑल द लाइव्स वी नेवर लिव्ड' के लिए तथा उर्दू में अशफाक को उनके उपन्यास ‘ख्वाब सराब' के लिए साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया.

बयान में कहा गया है कि मनोज कुमार गोस्वामी (असमिया), तपन बंद्योपाध्याय (बांग्ला), रश्मि चौधरी (बोडो) और वीणा गुप्ता (डोगरी) को भी साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया. बयान के मुताबिक, गुलाम मोहम्मद शेख (गुजराती), मुडनाकुडु चिन्नास्वामी (कन्नड), फरूक़ फयाज़ (कश्मीरी), माया अनिल खंरगटे (कोंकणी), अजित आजाद (मैथिली), एम. थॉमस मैथ्यू (मलयालम), कोइजम शांतिबाला (मणिपुरी), प्रवीण दशरथ बांदेकर (मराठी) और के. बी. नेपाली (नेपाली) को भी साल 2022 के लिए इस प्रतिष्ठित पुरस्कार से नवाज़ा गया.

बयान में कहा गया है कि यह पुरस्कार गायत्रीबाला पंडा (उड़िया), सुखजीत (पंजाबी), जर्नादन प्रसाद पाण्डेय ‘मणि' (संस्कृत), काजली सोरेन ‘जगन्नाथ सोरेन' (संताली), कन्हैयालाल लेखवाणी (सिंधी), एम. राजेंद्रन (तमिल), मधुरांतकम नरेंद्र (तेलुगु) को भी प्रदान किया गया है. इसमें कहा गया है कि कमल रंगा (राजस्थानी) पुरस्कार ग्रहण करने नहीं आ सके.

साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार से नवाजे गए लेखक-लेखिकाओं को एक उत्कीर्ण ताम्रफलक, शॉल और एक-एक लाख रुपये की राशि दी गई. समारोह की अध्यक्षता आज चुने गए अकादमी नए अध्यक्ष माधव कौशिक ने की और समापन वक्तव्य नवनिर्वाचित उपाध्यक्ष कुमुद शर्मा द्वारा प्रस्तुत किया गया. इस समारोह के मुख्य अतिथि अंग्रेजी के लेखक एवं विद्वान उपमन्यु चटर्जी थे.

अकादमी के सचिव के. श्रीनिवास राव ने बृहस्पतिवार को बताया था कि यह अबतक का सबसे बड़ा ‘साहित्योत्सव' है जिसमें 40 कार्यक्रम आयोजित होंगे और इनमें 400 से ज्यादा लेखक व विद्वान भाग लेंगे. सोलह मार्च तक चलने वाले इस ‘साहित्योत्सव' में देश के पूर्व प्रधान न्यायाधीश दीपक मिश्रा, नोबेल पुरस्कार से सम्मानित कैलाश सत्यार्थी और उद्योगपति सुनीलकांत मुंजाल के व्याख्यान भी होंगे.

Man Killed By Rehab Centre's Manager. He Wanted To Return Home: Cops

Police have arrested 8 persons for allegedly killing an inmate of a private drug rehabilitation centre by beating him and pouring molten plastic on his private parts and then hurriedly cremating the body in Gujarat's Patan town, an official said on Saturday.

Hardik Suthar (25) was murdered on February 17 and the accused, including the centre's manager, burnt the body at a cremation ground the same night by claiming his death to be natural in a phone call to his uncle, said Deputy Superintendent of Police KK Pandya.

The crime came to light after police worked on a tip-off and went through the footage of CCTV cameras installed at the facility – Jayona de-addiction centre – and the locality. Clips from one of the surveillance cameras showed a group of people brutally thrashing Suthar, he said.

“We have arrested eight persons in this connection on charges of murder (Indian Penal Code section 302) and destruction of evidence (section 201) among others after an FIR was registered on March 8. Further investigation is underway,” Mr Pandya said.

Another official said the centre's manager was upset as Suthar, who had been at the centre for the past six months, was insisting on going back home.

“On February 17, Suthar went inside the bathroom and slit his wrist, which agitated manager Sandeep Patel. To teach him a lesson, Patel started thrashing him with a plastic pipe,” said RK Amin, inspector of the local crime branch.

A few other inmates from the rehab centre helped Patel tie Suthar's hands and legs and then joined the manager in assaulting Suthar. The group also burnt his private parts using molten plastic, he said.

To destroy evidence, they called Suthar's uncle, who was his guardian, and lied to him that he had died due to low blood pressure and burnt his body late at night at a local crematorium, he said.

"जो हुआ वो दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण था...", होली पर हुई घटना को लेकर जापानी महिला ने बयां किया दर्द

होली के दिन जापानी महिला के साथ दिल्ली में कुछ लड़कों द्वारा जबरदस्ती करने का एक वीडियो सामने आया था. इस वीडियो में कुछ लड़के जापानी महिला को जबरदस्ती रंग लगाते देखे गए थे.इस वीडियो के सामने आने के बाद सोशल मीडिया पर पीड़ित महिला को इंसाफ दिलाने की भी मांग उठ रही है. अब इन सब के बीच पीड़ित जापानी महिला ने  प्रतिक्रिया दी है. हालांकि, इस मामले को लेकर पीड़िता की तरफ से अभी तक पुलिस में कोई शिकायत नहीं दी है. लेकिन पुलिस वायरल हुए वीडियो के आधार पर मामले की जांच कर रही है.

पीड़ित महिला ने भारत छोड़ने के बाद इस घटना को लेकर अपनी प्रतिक्रिया में कहा कि जो उस दिन हुआ वो बहुत दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण था. मैंने सुना था कि महिलाओं के लिए होली के दिन अकेले बाहर जाना बेहद खरतनाक होता है. इस वजह से ही मैं होली समारोह में अपने 35 दोस्तों के साथ शामिल हुई थी. लेकिन फिर भी मेरे साथ वो हुआ. 

पीड़िता ने आगे लिखा कि मुझे भारत के बारे में सबकुछ पसंद है, यही वजह है कि मैं यहां तीन बार आ चुकी हूं. भारत औ जापान हमेशा दोस्त रहेंगे. महिला ने लिखा कि मैंने 9 मार्च को उस घटना को लेकर जैसे ही ट्वीट किया मुझे बड़ी संख्या में लोगों के रीट्वीट्स और डीएम मिलने लगे. इसके बाद मैंने वो ट्वीट ही डीलिट कर दिया. 

बता दें कि राजधानी दिल्ली में 8 मार्च को होली समारोह के दौरान जापान की एक युवती के साथ छेड़छाड़, उत्पीड़न और मारपीट का मामला सामने आया था. जानकारी के मुताबिक, होली खेलते हुए पुरुषों की एक टोली ने जापानी युवती के साथ बदसलूकी की थी. इस घटना का वीडियो सोशल मीडिया पर वायरल हो रहा था. सोशल मीडिया यूजर्स इस वीडियो पर गुस्सा भी जाहिर किया था. इस मामले में कड़ी कार्रवाई की मांग की जा रही थी.

आदमी को जड़ा थप्पड़
सोशल मीडिया पर वायरल हो रहे वीडियो में आगे देखा जा सकता था कि जापानी युवती जैसे ही वहां से निकलने लगती है, एक आदमी उसे पकड़ने की कोशिश करता है. ऐसे में युवती विरोध स्वरूप उसे थप्पड़ भी जड़ देती है. युवती रंग में पूरी तरह सराबोर नजर आ रही है और लगभग पहचान में नहीं आ रही है.

पहाड़गंज का बताया जा रहा वीडियो
दिल्ली पुलिस ने कहा था कि पहली नजर में वीडियो में देखे गए लैंडमार्क के आधार पर ऐसा लगता है कि ये मामला पहाड़गंज का है. हालांकि, अभी तक इसे वैरिफाई नहीं किया जा सका है कि घटना उस क्षेत्र में हुई थी या वीडियो पुराना है. दिल्ली पुलिस ने कहा था कि पहाड़गंज थाने में किसी विदेशी के साथ किसी तरह के दुर्व्यवहार की कोई शिकायत या फोन कॉल प्राप्त नहीं हुई है.

Sri Lanka Uses Part Of Indian Aid To Buy Textbooks For 4 Million Students

Sri Lanka has used over USD 10 million from India's assistance of USD 1 billion to print nearly half of the textbooks for its four million young students, the Indian High Commission in Colmbo said on Saturday.

India announced a USD 1 billion line of credit to Sri Lanka last year as part of its financial assistance to help the country deal with its economic crisis.

After an agreement to extend the line of credit was inked, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi had said India has always stood with the people of Sri Lanka and will continue to extend all possible support to the country.

“A concessional credit facility of USD 1 billion was extended to the Government of Sri Lanka by the Government of India in March 2022 for supply of essential items including food, fuel, medicines, industrial raw materials. Out of this facility, over USD 10 million has been used by SPC and private importers to procure printing paper and material from India,” the High Commission said.

“This is being used to print 45 per cent of textbooks required by 4 million young students of Sri Lanka for the academic year 2023,” it said in a statement.

India and Sri Lanka enjoy a multi-faceted and multi-sectoral partnership. In line with its 'Neighbourhood First' policy, India's assistance to the people of Sri Lanka is extended in various forms, including through concessional credit facilities and lines of credit.

“Till date, lines of credit worth over USD 4 billion have been extended to Sri Lanka in diverse sectors including supply of essential items, petroleum, fertilisers, development of railways, infrastructure, defence sector and renewable energy,” the statement said.

Sri Lanka was hit by an unprecedented financial crisis in 2022 that also sparked political turmoil in the island nation that led to the ouster of the all-powerful Rajapaksa family for now.

The Sri Lankan government in May declared a debt default on over USD 51 billion in the foreign loans – a first in the country's history.

Extending a much-needed lifeline to a neighbour in need, India gave financial assistance of nearly USD 4 billion to Colombo during the year.

"Warn Enemies Of Punjab To Fall In Line Or...": Minister In Budget Speech

Days after the siege of the Ajnala police station by supporters of a pro-Khalistan preacher, the state government on Friday asked “enemies of Punjab” to fall in line or be destroyed.

The warning was delivered by Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema during his Budget speech in the state assembly.

In its first full budget, the Aam Aadmi Party government has allocated Rs 10,523 crore for maintaining law and order -- up 11 per cent from the previous year.

“Some evil forces are always looking for opportunities to disturb peace and order in our border state,” Mr Cheema said, adding that such attempts in the past were thwarted by “our brave police forces”.

“I, on behalf of my government warn the enemies of Punjab to fall in line else our government shall destroy them from the root,” he said.

Punjab's ruling AAP has been under flak from the opposition over the “deterioration” of law and order.

The minister did not directly refer to the incident in Ajnala near Amritsar on February 23, when radical priest Amritpal Singh's supporters barged into a police station complex, forcing authorities to agree on the release of an arrested man.

Mr Cheema said the state government has set aside Rs 40 crore in the 2023-24 Budget to strengthen the security infrastructure in border districts. This includes CCTV cameras in areas close to the international border, lights and high-end police vehicles.

He said the state government is preparing its law enforcing agencies and police forces for all odds.

The counter-intelligence wing of the force is being fortified with the latest equipment and infrastructure, he said. An outlay of Rs 40 crore has been sanctioned for this.

He said Rs 64 crore will be spent on modernisation of the police force and Rs 30 crore on combating cybercrime in the coming year.

Mr Cheema said the Anti-Gangster Task Force had arrested 567 criminals and killed five gangsters, busted 156 modules, and seized 563 weapons and 125 vehicles till February-end.
