"In A Society Governed By Dharma, There's No Room For Inequities": Veep

Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Saturday said dharma is the most fundamental concept of Indian culture, guiding all aspects of life and that inequities have no place in a society governed by dharma.

Dharma represents both the path, the passage as also the destination and the goal, applying to all spheres of existence including divine beings and serves as a practical rather than utopian ideal for righteous living, he said.

"Sanatana stands for empathy, sympathy, compassion, tolerance, non-violence, virtuosity, sublimity, religiosity and all these converge in one word, inclusivity," he added.

Addressing the gathering at the 'Namah Shivaya' Parayan organised by Sringeri Sri Sharada Peetham as part of their Suvarna Bharati Mahotsava here, Mr Dhankhar described "Mantra Cosmopolis" as a rare and spectacular event that resonates deeply, engaging the mind, heart, and soul, with everyone in harmony.

He emphasised that Vedic chanting, one of humanity's most ancient and continuous oral traditions, serves as a living link to our ancestor's profound spiritual wisdom. The precise rhythms, intonations, and vibrations of these sacred mantras create a powerful resonance that brings mental peace and environmental harmony.

"The systematic structure of Vedic verses and the intricate recitation rules reflect the scientific sophistication of ancient scholars. This tradition, preserved without written records, demonstrates the remarkable capacity of Indian culture to transmit knowledge orally across generations, with each syllable meticulously articulated in mathematical harmony," he stated.

He emphasised that Indian culture's defining feature is its unity in diversity, created through the blending of various traditions over time. This journey has instilled values of humility and non-violence. India stands unparalleled in its inclusiveness, representing all of humanity with a sense of unity.

"The divine essence of Indian culture lies in its universal compassion, encapsulated in the philosophy of "VasudhaivaKutumbakam," he said.

Referring to attempts made by "bigotry minds" in the past, the Vice-President said, "All kinds of efforts were made to run down our culture, taint and tarnish our heritage and destroy our moral fabric by some bigoted minds. The nation has survived because our culture is indestructible." 

Recognising Adi Shankaracharya's role in unifying and strengthening Indian culture through his easily comprehensible teachings, Mr Dhankhar said, "We owe a great debt to Adi Shankaracharya Ji for revival of timeless traditions of Indian spirituality and philosophy." Noting that pursuit of wealth should not be reckless or self-centered, he said if creation of wealth is harmonised with human welfare, it purifies the conscience and gives happiness.

He also stressed that business ethics must be aligned with spiritual principles, keeping in mind that Dharma is wedded to fairness to all, equitable behaviour to all, equality for all.

"In a society governed by dharma, there is no room for inequities," he added.

Cyclone Dana : कमजोर पड़ा चक्रवात दाना, ओडिशा-बंगाल में भारी बारिश, 1.75 लाख हेक्टेयर की फसलें बर्बाद

साइक्‍लोन 'दाना' (Cyclone Dana) के ओडिशा के तट से टकराने के कारण ओडिशा और पश्चिम बंगाल में भारी बारिश हुई. साथ ही पेड़ और बिजली के खंभे उखड़ गए. लाखों हेक्‍टेयर में खड़ी फसलें बर्बाद हो गई. बड़ी संख्‍या में कच्‍चे मकानों को नुकसान पहुंचा है. इसके कारण पश्चिम बंगाल में एक व्‍यक्ति की मौत हुई है. हालांकि भीषण चक्रवाती तूफान "दाना" के ओडिशा तट को पार करने के बाद यह धीरे-धीरे कमजोर हो रहा है, जिसके बाद केंद्र से पश्चिम बंगाल और ओडिशा की राज्‍य सरकारों ने राहत की सांस ली है. 

भारत मौसम विज्ञान विभाग ने अपने एक एक्‍स पोस्‍ट में कहा कि चक्रवाती तूफान 'दाना' पिछले 6 घंटों के दौरान 07 किमी प्रति घंटे की गति के साथ उत्तर पश्चिम की ओर बढ़ रहा है. आईएमडी ने कहा कि यह कमजोर हो गया है और हवा की गति 55-65 किमी प्रति घंटे से 75 किमी प्रति घंटे तक है. इसके उत्तरी ओडिशा में पश्चिम की ओर बढ़ने और अगले 12 घंटों के दौरान और कमजोर होने की संभावना है.

एक-दो दिन हो सकती है बारिश 

भारतीय मौसम विभाग में वरिष्ठ वैज्ञानिक डॉ. सोमनाथ दत्ता ने शुक्रवार को चक्रवाती तूफान के संभावित प्रभाव के बारे में विस्तार से बताते हुए कहा कि कुछ जिलों में एक-दो दिन बारिश हो सकती है. वहीं, कुछ इलाकों में चक्रवात का असर कम देखने को मिलेगा. उन्‍होंने कहा कि कई जिलों में आगामी दिनों में भारी बारिश देखने को मिल सकती है. हमें इससे ज्यादा घबराने की जरूरत नहीं है. 

उन्होंने कहा, “यह गंभीर चक्रवाती तूफान उत्तर-उत्तर पश्चिम दिशा में बढ़ते हुए ओडिशा के तट को पार कर चुका है. इसके लैंडफॉल की प्रक्रिया गुरुवार रात 11:30 बजे शुरू हुई और आज सुबह सात बजे समाप्त हो गई. चक्रवाती तूफान अब उत्तर-उत्तर पश्चिम की ओर बढ़ रहा है.”

ओडिशा के मुख्यमंत्री मोहन चरण माझी ने कहा कि अभी तक किसी के हताहत होने की खबर नहीं मिली है और राज्य ने अपना ‘शून्य मानवीय क्षति मिशन' हासिल कर लिया है, जबकि पश्चिम बंगाल की मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी ने कहा कि प्राकृतिक आपदा के कारण एक व्यक्ति की मौत हुई है. 

बंगाल-ओडिशा में 8 लाख लोगों को सुरक्षित निकाला 

ओडिशा के मुख्‍यमंत्री मोहन चरण माझी ने साइक्‍लोन दाना को लेकर कहा, "ओडिशा अब सुरक्षित है. चक्रवात के पहुंचने के बाद मैंने स्थिति की समीक्षा की और टीम वर्क के कारण हम शून्य हताहत हुए. हमने 8 लाख लोगों को निकाला था. बहुत से राहत केंद्र खुले हैं. बिजली के तारों की मरम्मत का काम चल रहा है. लगातार बारिश के कारण 1.75 लाख हेक्टेयर में खड़ी फसलें क्षतिग्रस्त हो गई हैं. बुधबलंगा नदी में बाढ़ आ गई है लेकिन वह खतरे के निशान से नीचे बह रही है.''

पश्चिम बंगाल की मुख्यमंत्री ने शुक्रवार को कोलकाता में कहा कि राज्य में चक्रवात ‘दाना' के कारण एक व्यक्ति की मौत हो गई, जबकि प्रशासन ने निचले इलाकों से लगभग 2.16 लाख लोगों को सुरक्षित स्थानों पर पहुंचाया. 

कच्‍चे मकान क्षतिग्रस्‍त, पेड़ उखड़े, खंभे गिरे 

उन्होंने कहा, 'मुझे विभिन्न जिलों से जानकारी मिली है. दक्षिण 24 परगना जिले के सागर द्वीप, डायमंड हार्बर, उत्तर 24 परगना जिले के संदेशखालि जैसे स्थानों पर निचले इलाके जलमग्न हो गए हैं. बनगांव और बशीरहाट उप-मंडलों में जल-जमाव की सूचना मिली है.' 

जैसा कि मौसम विभाग ने अनुमान लगाया था, पूर्वी मेदिनीपुर और दक्षिण 24 परगना के तटीय जिलों में तूफान का सबसे बुरा असर देखने को मिला. 

जिला प्रशासन के शुरुआती अनुमानों से पता चला है कि पूर्वी मेदिनीपुर में लगभग 350-400 कच्चे मकान क्षतिग्रस्त हो गए, साथ ही लगभग 250 पेड़ उखड़ गए और बिजली के 175 खंभे गिर गए. 

कई रिपोर्ट से पता चला है कि दक्षिण 24 परगना में समुद्री पानी की वजह से मिट्टी के तटबंध टूट गए. प्रशासन के शुरुआती अनुमानों से पता चला है कि तूफान के दौरान पूरे जिले में लगभग 300 कच्चे घर क्षतिग्रस्त हो गए और बिजली के लगभग 50 खंभे उखड़ गए. 

‘दाना' तूफान शुक्रवार को रात करीब 12बजकर पांच मिनट पर ओडिशा में केंद्रपाड़ा के भीतरकनिका और भद्रक जिले के धामरा के बीच पहुंचा. उस दौरान हवा की गति करीब 110 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटा थी. 

300 फ्लाइट कैंसिल, 552 ट्रेनें रद्द

साइक्लोन 'दाना' के कारण रेल और हवाई सेवाएं काफी प्रभावित हुई हैं. इसके मद्देनजर भुवनेश्वर और कोलकाता एयरपोर्ट पर गुरुवार शाम 5 बजे से शुक्रवार 25 अक्टूबर सुबह 9 बजे तक 300 फ्लाइट्स कैंसिल कर दी गईं. वहीं, कुल 552 ट्रेनें रद्द की गई. साउथ ईस्ट रेलवे ने 150, ईस्ट कोस्ट रेलवे ने 198, ईस्टर्न रेलवे ने 190 और साउथ ईस्ट सेंट्रल रेलवे ने 14 ट्रेनें रद्द कर दी हैं.

Russia Ukraine War: यूक्रेन (Ukraine)  के क्षेत्र में कथित तौर पर रूसी (Russia) तिरंगे के साथ लाल और नीले रंग का उत्तर कोरिया (North Korea) का झंडा लहराते देखा गया है. यह दावा द सन न्यूज की ओर से किया गया है.दावा किया जा रहा है कि उत्तर कोरिया के सैनिकों को यूक्रेन युद्ध के खिलाफ अग्रिम पंक्ति में तैनात किया गया है.अगर इस दावे में सच्चाई है तो उत्तर कोरिया सैनिकों को भेजने वाला पहला देश होगा.

रूस और यूक्रेन को अब तक अन्य देशों ने हथियार और अन्य सामान भेजकर ही मदद पहुंचाई है.कथित तौर पर प्रमुख शहर पोक्रोव्स्क के पास ली गई एक धुंधली तस्वीर में खाइयों के बीच उड़ते हुए दो झंडे दिखाई दे रहे हैं.

रूस के कुर्स्क क्षेत्र में कम से कम 3,000 उत्तर कोरियाई सैनिक मौजूद हैं और अमेरिकी अधिकारियों को आशंका है कि यूक्रेनी बलों को पीछे धकेलने में पुतिन की मदद के लिए उन्हें वहां भेजा गया है.

यूक्रेनी खुफिया विभाग का कहना है कि किम के सैनिक रूस के सैन्य ठिकानों पर प्रशिक्षण ले रहे हैं.अमेरिका और कीव को डर है कि उन्हें युद्ध में शामिल होने के लिए भेजा गया है. रूस के सुदूर पूर्व के कथित वीडियो में किम के सैनिकों को हथियार दिए जा रहे हैं और सख्त सैन्य प्रशिक्षण में भाग लेते हुए दिखाया गया है.

अन्य फुटेज में उत्तर कोरियाई सैनिकों को मॉस्को के रेड स्क्वायर में फोटो खिंचवाते हुए दिखाया गया है. मॉस्को और प्योंगयांग दोनों ने उत्तर कोरियाई सैनिकों की उपस्थिति से इनकार किया है. दक्षिण कोरिया के खुफिया प्रमुख ने कहा कि उत्तर कोरिया के सैनिकों को यूक्रेन में ड्रोन सहित उपकरणों का उपयोग करने के लिए प्रशिक्षित किया जा रहा है. अमेरिका और अन्य पश्चिमी देश भी इस तरह के आरोप रूस और उत्तर कोरिया पर लगातार लगाते रहे हैं. एनडीटीवी इन तस्वीरों और वीडियो की पुष्टि नहीं कर सका है.

Congress Announces First List of 45 Candidates For Maharashtra Election

The Congress announced its first list of 48 candidates for the coming Maharashtra election this evening - a day after the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi announced 85-85-85 seat share formula. The party has retained 25 sitting MLAs in the first list, which comprised all the confirmed, undisputed seats. 

The party's state chief Nana Patole is contesting from Sakoli, Legislature Party leader Balasaheb Thorat from Sangamner, Leader of Opposition Vijay Wadettiwar from Bramhapuri, former Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan from Karad South and CWC Member and Regional Working President Naseem Khan from Chandivali.

The Congress has been locked into some tough bargaining with ally Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena UBT for weeks, confident that it would manage the maximum victories after its vastly improved performance in the Lok Sabha election.

The party had been demanding 125 of the state's 288 assembly seats, while Sena had its counter-offer of  100 seats. The Sena also wanted 100 sears and had suggested that 88 seats be left for Sharad Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar). 

But with time running out, Mr Pawar had intervened and after multiple sessions of discussions with both partners, had devised the 85-85-85 formula. 

The parties have said they would offer the rest to smaller partners and if there's any seat left, would divide it up between themselves. 

Addressing a press conference in the evening, Shiv Sena (UBT)'s Sanjay Raut said a consensus has been reached on 270 of the 288 seats.

"We will include the Samajwadi Party, PWP, CPI(M), CPI and AAP. Discussions are still on for the remaining seats. We have amicably arrived at a consensus on 270 seats. The MVA stands united to defeat the Mahayuti government," Mr Raut was quoted as saying by news agency Press Trust of India..

Elections for the 288-member Maharashtra assembly will be held on November 20, and votes will be counted on November 23. The term of the current assembly will end on November 26.

UP School Teacher Sexual Harassment Case: एक स्कूल शिक्षक को कथित यौन उत्पीड़न के आरोप में गिरफ्तार किया गया है.शिक्षा के मंदिर में कामुकता की कलंक कथा लिखने वाला ये मामला उत्तर प्रदेश के ललितपुर जिले के एक प्राथमिक विद्यालय का है. हालांकि, उसके घिनौने काम का खुलासा उसी स्कूल की अध्यापिका के जरिए हुआ. ये अध्यापिका ‘गुड टच' और ‘बैड टच' छात्राओं को समझा रही थीं. तब उन छात्राओं ने कहा कि ऐसा बैड टच तो वो शिक्षक देते हैं. ये सभी छात्राएं कक्षा 1 से 3 की हैं. इन्हें क्या मालूम था कि एक शिक्षक भी गलत कर सकता है.

फिर मचा हंगामा

तहसील तालबेहट क्षेत्र के प्राइमरी विद्यालय मुकटोरा में तैनात एक शिक्षा मित्र दरु विश्वकर्मा लंबे समय से मासूम छात्राओं को गलत स्पर्श कर रहा था, लेकिन मासूम छात्राएं कामुक अध्यापक की हरकत को नहीं समझ पाईं, लेकिन स्कूल की एक अध्यापिका ने क्लास की छात्राओं को गुड टच और बैड टच का मतलब सिखाया तो सभी छात्राओं ने बताया कि ये सब उनके साथ रोज उनके अध्यापक करते है तो पूरे स्कूल में हड़कंप मच गया. मामले की जानकारी गांववालों को हुई तो हंगामा हो गया.

शिक्षा विभाग बचा रहा

ग्राम प्रधान रूपसिंह ने बताया कि पूरे मामले की खबर शिक्षा विभाग के आलाधिकारियों को हुई तो उच्चाधिकारियों ने भी मामले को रफा-दफा करने के लिए आरोपी अध्यापक को एबीएसए ऑफिस में अटैच कर दिया, लेकिन ग्रामीणों ने बच्चों की सुरक्षा की मांग और आरोपी पर कार्रवाई को लेकर थाने पहुंचकर तहरीर दी. इस मामले में शिक्षा विभाग आरोपी शिक्षक पर कड़ी कार्रवाई करने के बजाय उस पर मेहरबानी दिखाते हुए नजर आ रहा है. शिक्षा विभाग के साथ जिला प्रशासन के आला अधिकारियों ने जवाब देने से इनकार किया.

Omar Abdullah Meets Amit Shah In Delhi To Discuss J&K Statehood Issue

The newly elected chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, met Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday and discussed issues related to the Union Territory including early restoration of statehood.

On his first visit to the national capital after assuming office last week, Abdullah spent nearly 30 minutes with the Home Minister.

He later said that it was a courtesy call during which he apprised the Union Home Minister about the situation and also discussed the issue of restoration of statehood.

Abdullah's visit follows the terror attack in the Gangangir area of Ganderbal district, where terrorists mercilessly killed seven individuals, including a doctor, just three days ago.

Since the reorganisation of Jammu and Kashmir into a Union Territory in 2019, the police force has been under the jurisdiction of the Union Home Ministry.

During his stay in Delhi, the chief minister is scheduled to meet the central leadership, including an anticipated meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Abdullah's National Conference achieved a remarkable victory in the recent assembly polls in the Union Territory, securing 42 out of the 90 seats.

In a significant move during his first cabinet meeting, a resolution was passed urging the central government to restore the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir in its original form.

This restoration is seen as a crucial step towards initiating a healing process, reinstating constitutional rights and safeguarding the unique identity of the region's residents.

With the J-K Cabinet's endorsement, the chief minister has been empowered to engage with the prime minister and the central government to advocate for the reinstatement of Jammu and Kashmir's statehood.

This resolution was also approved by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
