Congress Agreed To Contest 2 Seats In UP? Samajwadi Party's Claim Contested

The sharing of 10 seats in Uttar Pradesh where by-polls are due, are turning into another tug-of-war between the Congress and the Samajwadi Party. The SP, which has already announced candidates for six seats, announced a seventh today, and said the Congress has agreed to contest only two seats. 

"Our agreement is final with the Congress. Of the 10 seats, the Congress will contest on two Khair (Aligarh) and Ghaziabad, while on the rest eight,the SP will contest," SP Spokesperson Rajendra Chowdhury was quoted as saying by news agency Press Trust of India. 

The Congress disagreed. The party has been demanding five of the 10 seats going to polls in November, though it is on a considerably weak footing after its disasterous performance in Haryana.

State Congress chief Ajay Rai said, "We are not aware of this. As of now, we stand by our demand of five seats". 

The SP has already declared candidates for seven seats including Muzaffarnagar's  Meerapur from where it has fielded Sumbhul Rana.
The Congress wanted this seat, but NDTV has confirmed that this time, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav is ready to give it only two seats -- Khair and Ghaziabad. 

Sources said the SP chief has relented because the party is interested in contesting two seats in Maharashtra as part of the Maha Vikas Aghadi Alliance. 

After the Congress's poor performance in the Haryana election, the SP had snubbed its request for seat sharing in the by-polls. It was not just about Congress performance though. As in Madhya Pradesh, the two parties had failed to come to an understanding about the seats in Haryana  -- which is one of the reasons attributed to its defeat in both states where it was widely expected to win.

In both cases, state Congress leaders were blamed - Kamal Nath in Madhya Pradesh and Bhupinder Hooda in Haryana. 

Nine of the assembly seats in UP fell vacant after their MLAs were elected as MPs in the Lok Sabha polls. Bypolls are being held in the Sisamau due to the disqualification of its MLA, Samajwadi Party's Irfan Solanki, who was convicted in a criminal case. Except Milkipur, the Election Commission has announced polls on the rest nine seats. 

The polling seats will be held on November 13.

The candidate for Meerapur, Sumbul Rana, is the daughter-in-law of former BSP MP Qadir Rana, who has now joined the Samajwadi Party. Sumbul Rana's husband is Shah Mohammad Rana.

ब्रिटेन की रॉयल एयर फोर्स ने एयर इंडिया के विमान को सुरक्षित उतारने के लिए भेजा लड़ाकू विमान

ब्रिटेन की रॉयल एयर फोर्स (RAF) ने गुरुवार को एयर इंडिया के बम रखे होने की धमकी वाले विमान को गाइड कर उसे उतारने के लिए एक लड़ाकू विमान भेजा. बाद में हालांकि विमान को लंदन में सुरक्षित रूप से उतार लिया गया.

एयरलाइन के एक अधिकारी ने बताया कि मुंबई से लंदन जा रहे एयर इंडिया के विमान में बम की धमकी मिली थी.

रॉयल एयर फोर्स के प्रवक्ता ने कहा, "हम पुष्टि कर सकते हैं कि आरएएफ कॉनिंग्सबी से 'आरएएफ क्विक रिएक्शन अलर्ट टाइफून' लड़ाकू विमान को गुरुवार दोपहर एक विमान की जांच के लिए भेजा गया था."

प्रवक्ता ने बताया कि बिना किसी अप्रिय घटना के विमान को उतार लिया गया और सिविल एयर ट्रैफिक कंट्रोल के निर्देश पर विमान को उसके डेस्टिनेशन की ओर रवाना किया गया.

एयरलाइन अधिकारी ने बताया कि विमान को लंदन के हीथ्रो हवाई अड्डे पर सुरक्षित उतार लिया गया.

नॉरफॉक पुलिस ने एक बयान में कहा, "पुलिस इस बात की पुष्टि कर सकती है कि काउंटी के निवासियों द्वारा गुरुवार दोपहर (17 अक्टूबर) सुनी गई तेज आवाज आरएएफ विमान की थी और ये कोई विस्फोट नहीं था."

House Help In Ghaziabad Arrested For Allegedly Mixing Urine In Dough

A house help working for a real estate businessman for eight years has been arrested for allegedly mixing urine in the dough used to make rotis, police said.

The help, identified as Reena (32) from Shanti Nagar Colony here, was caught on camera committing the alleged act, police said.

The incident came to light when Rupam, house owner Nitin Gautam's wife, noticed her family members experiencing liver problems. Suspecting a foul play, she began monitoring the help's activities in the kitchen. Gautam secretly recorded a video using his mobile phone, which captured the help allegedly mixing urine in the flour.

Based on the complaint and evidence filed by the family, police lodged an FIR regarding the matter on Monday and arrested Reena on Tuesday.

"During interrogation, the help initially denied the allegations. However, upon being confronted with the video, she confessed to her actions. The help claimed she was motivated by revenge after being frequently scolded by her employer for minor mistakes," said ACP Wave City Lipi Nagaich.

Reena has been booked under Section 272 (malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) of the BNS, said the officer.

Similar incidents of human waste, including urine and spit, being added to food items have been reported from several places in the state.

In wake of such incidents, the Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday announced it will soon introduce a new law against sellers who "hide their identity" and mix human waste or inedible material in food items and beverages.

SCO समिट को लेकर पाकिस्तान की क्या है रणनीति? भारत से क्या चाहती है शहबाज सरकार

भारत के विदेश मंत्री एस जयशंकर (S Jaishankar) शंघाई सहयोग संगठन यानी SCO समिट में शिरकत करने पाकिस्तान पहुंचे हैं. इस्लामाबाद में 15 और 16 अक्टूबर को यह समिट हो रही है. इस बहुपक्षीय बैठक पर जितनी नज़र है, उससे ज़्यादा चर्चा इस बात पर है कि क्या इस समिट के बहाने भारत और पाकिस्तान (India-Pakistan Relation) के बीच की बर्फ कुछ पिघलेगी? इस चर्चा का आधार बस इतना है कि 2015 के बाद पहली बार भारत के विदेश मंत्री ने पाकिस्तान का दौरा किया है. हालांकि, एस जयशंकर साफ कर चुके हैं कि वो SCO की बैठक के अलावा पाकिस्तान में किसी और एजेंडे के लिए तैयार नहीं हैं. अब पाकिस्तानी विदेश मंत्रालय की प्रवक्ता मुमताज़ ज़ाहरा बलोच ने भी कहा है कि इस बहुपक्षीय बैठक में किसी द्विपक्षीय बातचीत की गुंजाइश नहीं है. 

दरअसल, भारत से बातचीत शुरू करने को लेकर पाकिस्तान अभी कभी हां और कभी ना की स्थिति में है. वहां के विदेश मंत्रालय ने कहा कि प्रधानमंत्री शहबाज शरीफ बैठक के दौरान प्रतिनिधिमंडल के प्रमुखों के साथ द्विपक्षीय बैठकें भी करेंगे. यह साफ नहीं किया गया कि इसमें भारतीय विदेश मंत्री के साथ द्विपक्षीय बैठक भी शामिल है या नहीं. आइए समझते हैं कि आखिर एस जयशंकर के दौरे से पाकिस्तान क्या चाहता है? SCO समिट की मेजबानी के पीछे उसका असली मकसद क्या है:-

दुनिया के सामने अपनी नाकाम इमेज सुधारने की कोशिश
देखा जाए तो, शंघाई सहयोग संगठन की बैठक पाकिस्तान के लिए बेहद अहम है. ये ऐसे समय हो रही है, जब पाकिस्तान की आर्थिक तंगी को लेकर दुनिया भर में उसकी खिल्ली उड़ाई जा रही है. SCO समिट को लेकर तैयारी ऐसी है, मानो इस्लामाबाद में लॉकडाउन लग गया हो. 3 दिन तक सरकारी छुट्टी घोषित की गई है. सड़कों पर सन्नाटा पसरा हुआ है. शरीफ सरकार ने इमरान खान की पार्टी तहरीक-ए इंसाफ़ के प्रदर्शनों को रोकने के नाम पर ये इंतज़ाम किया है. जाहिर है पाकिस्तान इस बार SCO की सफल बैठक कर दुनिया को ये मैसेज देना चाहता है कि वह नाकाम राष्ट्र नहीं है. इस मैसेज का दूसरा पहलू ये है कि पाकिस्तान अब पड़ोसियों से संबंध सुधारने की बात कर रहा है.

SCO समिट के जरिए भारत से क्या चाहता है पाकिस्तान?
पाकिस्तान की सत्तारूढ़ पार्टी PML-N के प्रमुख और पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री नवाज़ शरीफ कहते रहे हैं कि वो हमेशा से भारत से अच्छे रिश्चे चाहते हैं. नवाज शरीफ उम्मीद जता रहे हैं कि जल्द ही प्रधानमंत्री मोदी से उनकी मुलाकात होगी. SCO समिट के प्लेटफॉर्म से पाकिस्तान पड़ोसी देशों के साथ अपने रिश्ते सुधारने की उम्मीद कर रहा है. साथ ही वह दुनिया से आर्थिक सहयोग भी पाने की उम्मीद कर रहा है.

वहीं, भारत जैसे देश को एनर्जी की काफी जरूरत है. सेंट्रल एशिया के देश एनर्जी के अच्छे सोर्स हैं. ऐसे में देखना दिलचस्प होगा कि SCO के प्रस्ताव में सुरक्षा, व्यापार और आतंकवाद के मुद्दे पर क्या स्टैंड रखा जाएगा.

कश्मीर का नाम लेने से बाज नहीं आ रहा पाकिस्तान
मुश्किल ये है कि भारत से दोस्ती की चाहत के बावजूद पाकिस्तान दुश्मनी की सियासत भी कर रहा है. वह कश्मीर का नाम लेने से बाज नहीं आ रहा. इस्लामी मुल्कों के संगठन से भी उसने कश्मीर को लेकर प्रस्ताव पास कराया था. हालांकि, उसकी इस कोशिश को पहले से कम समर्थन मिलता दिख रहा है.

तुर्की (तुर्किये) जैसे देश पहले कश्मीर का नाम लेते थे, लेकिन अब वह ख़ामोश है. संयुक्त राष्ट्र में तुर्की ने कश्मीर के ज़िक्र से इस बार परहेज किया था. 

आतंकवाद को लेकर पाकिस्तान ने नहीं बदला रवैया
अब भी पाकिस्तान में आतंकी संगठन और उनके नेता बेखौफ घूम रहे हैं. कश्मीर में आतंकी घुसपैठ का सिलसिला अगर रुका नहीं है, तो इसकी वजह पाकिस्तान का रवैया भी है. भारत यही कहता रहा है कि पाकिस्तान आतंकवाद को समर्थन देने से बाज़ आए, तभी उससे बातचीत शुरू होगी. उसके पहले पाकिस्तान को इसकी उम्मीद नहीं करनी चाहिए.

SCO क्या है, पाकिस्तान क्यों जा रहे हैं एस जयशंकर

जयशंकर ने पाकिस्तान दौरे को लेकर क्या कहा था?
जयशंकर ने नई दिल्ली में एक कार्यक्रम के दौरान पाकिस्तान दौरे को लेकर बयान दिया था. उन्होंने कहा था, "मैं वहां भारत-पाकिस्तान संबंधों पर चर्चा करने नहीं जा रहा हूं. मैं वहां SCO का एक अच्छा सदस्य बनने जा रहा हूं. आप जानते हैं, चूंकि मैं एक विनम्र और सभ्य व्यक्ति हूं, इसलिए मैं उसी के अनुसार व्यवहार करूंगा."

SCO क्या है?
SCO मध्य एशिया में शांति और सभी देशों के बीच सहयोग बनाए रखने के लिए बनाया गया संगठन है. पाकिस्तान, चीन, रूस, भारत, कजाकिस्तान, तजाकिस्तान, उज्बेकिस्तान, किर्गिस्तान भी इसके मेंबर हैं. 

2017 में SCO के मेंबर बने भारत और पाकिस्तान
भारत और पाकिस्तान साल 2017 में SCO में शामिल हुए थे. ईरान ने साल 2023 में इसकी मेंबरशिप ली. इस समय SCO देशों में पूरी दुनिया की लगभग 40% आबादी रहती है. पूरी दुनिया की GDP में SCO देशों की 20% हिस्सेदारी है.

CHG शंघाई सहयोग संगठन यानी SCO का दूसरा सर्वोच्च निकाय है. इस समिट में चीन के प्रधानमंत्री ली कियांग, रूस के प्रधानमंत्री मिखाइल मिशुस्तीन हिस्सा ले रहे हैं. इसके साथ ही बेलारूस, कजाकिस्तान, किर्गिस्तान, ताजिकिस्तान और उजबेकिस्तान के उनके समकक्ष भी समिट में शामिल होंगे. ऑब्जर्वर के तौर पर मंगोलिया के प्रधानमंत्री और तुर्कमेनिस्तान के विदेश मंत्री मौजूद रहेंगे. अफगानिस्तान CHG की बैठक में भाग नहीं लेगा, क्योंकि बीजिंग स्थित SCO सचिवालय ने अफगानिस्तान को इसमें शामिल होने के लिए न्योता नहीं भेजा है.

SCO में अब तक क्या हुआ?
पाकिस्तान में शंघाई कोऑपरेशन ऑर्गेनाइजेशन (SCO) समिट का 15 अक्टूबर को पहला दिन है. विदेश मंत्री एस जयशंकर मंगलवार को ही इस्लामाबाद पहुंचे. एयरपोर्ट पर उनका स्वागत किया गया. इसके बाद PM शहबाज शरीफ ने SCO नेताओं के लिए डिनर रखा. डिनर के दौरान पाकिस्तानी PM शहबाज शरीफ और भारत के विदेश मंत्री एस. जयशंकर की मुलाकात हुई. पाकिस्तानी पीएम ने आगे आकर हैंड शेक किया. हालांकि, दोनों नेताओं के बीच क्या बातचीत हुई, इसकी जानकारी सामने नहीं आई है.

पाकिस्तान की वरिष्ठ पत्रकार मेहर तरार कहती हैं, "SCO की ये बैठक पाकिस्तान के लिए काफी अहमियत रखती है. अभी जो पाकिस्तान के मौजूदा हालात हैं, उसे देखते हुए यहां की सरकार को SCO समिट से काफी कुछ उम्मीदें हैं. अभी दो जंग की वजह से सप्लाई चेन पर असर पड़ा है. विकासशील देशों में दिक्कतें बढ़ी हैं. ऐसे में चीन, रूस और भारत जैसे देश एक फोरम पर बात करने के लिए इकट्ठा हो रहे हैं. ये सभी मुल्क आर्थिक, व्यापारिक और सुरक्षा के मसलों पर बात करेंगे. जाहिर तौर पर पाकिस्तान को अपनी समस्याओं के समाधान की उम्मीद तो रहेगी ही."

पूर्व राजनयिक स्कंद तायल कहते हैं, "बेशक SCO एक बहुपक्षीय मंच है. यहां द्विपक्षीय मसलों पर बातचीत की कोई गुंजाइश नहीं है. जहां तक एस जयशंकर की बात है, तो उन्होंने पाकिस्तानी PM शहबाज शरीफ के डिनर में हिस्सा लिया है. जाहिर तौर पर इस समिट से पाकिस्तान अपनी इमेज को कुछ हद तक सुधार सकता है."

Enough Evidence To Prosecute Coaching Centre Deaths Accused: CBI To Court

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday informed a Delhi court that there was enough evidence to prosecute the accused persons in the death case connected to the flooding in an Old Rajinder Nagar coaching institute.

The civil services aspirants had lost their lives following a torrential downpour in the national capital leading to the flooding at the coaching institute.

Principal District and Sessions Judge Anju Bajaj Chandna heard the submissions of the CBI, which urged the court to take cognisance of a chargesheet filed in the case.

Among others, the CBI has chargesheeted the CEO of Rau's IAS Study Circle Abhishek Gupta and its coordinator Deshpal Singh.

The defence counsel, however, opposed the CBI submissions, claiming the chargesheet was incomplete.

Following the submissions, the court posted the hearing on October 29 to decide on cognisance.

Shreya Yadav (25) from Uttar Pradesh, Tanya Soni (25) from Telangana and Nevin Delvin (24) from Kerala had drowned in the flooded basement of the building on July 27.

Supreme Court Calls Security To Remove Petitioner From Courtroom

Do not use the name of the judge, the Supreme Court had advised the petitioner. He insisted that he be heard. A heated exchange followed. Irked, the Supreme Court summoned the security to remove the petitioner from the courtroom.

Arun Ramchandra Hublikar had filed a petition against ex-Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, now a Rajya Sabha member. The petitioner claimed before the bench of justices Bela M Trivedi and Satish Chandra Sharma on Tuesday that his life had been made miserable by ex-CJI Gogoi's interference in an order related to a service dispute. 

Not convinced by the argument, the bench refused to entertain the petition.

The top court also remarked that there is nothing in his case. However, Mr Hubllikar, who was also arguing  the case, insisted the court hear his request as he kept blaming the former Chief Justice.

"We are going to impose cost. Don't take the name of the judge. There is nothing in your case," the Bench remarked.

"Nothing? How can it be said? It is injustice against me. At least I should get justice before my death," Mr Hublikar replied.

The Court reiterated its intention to dismiss the petition.

"Sorry, we cannot interfere. Your all petitions are dismissed," it said.

"How can you say sorry? This court has made my life miserable," an agitated Mr Hublikar retorted.

At this point, Justice Trivedi asked security to be called in for escorting Mr Hublikar out of the courtroom.

"Call security. Don't compel us to take action against you. If you speak a single word, you are out," the bench warned.

Mr Hublikar refused to relent.

"Madam, you are doing injustice against me. What is the problem in issuing notice against the complainant?" he asked again.

The Court then said, "Security, please take him out. We are calling security."

This was not the first time that Mr Hublikar faced the court's ire. Earlier, Chief Justice DY Chandrachud questioned him for filing a petition with a judge as a party in the case.

Film-Maker Ram Gopal Varma On Lawrence Bishnoi's Growing "Cult Status"

Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's personality and the points he is making through his crimes is what is drawing attention to him, giving him a "cult leader" status and getting him followers, his 700 shooters, film-maker Ram Gopal Varma said today. In an exclusive interview with NDTV, Mr Varma also said without his provocative comments, Lawrence Bishnoi would have remained yet another criminal.

Bishnoi, who is currently in Sabarmati jail in Gujarat, shot into limelight with the murder of Punjabi artiste Siddhu Moose Wala. But comments by his associates have exponentially raised curiosity.

While nothing is on record, Bishnoi's associates have given the impression that his grouse against Salman Khan is about the blackbucks the actor killed 20 years ago. In a tweet, Mr Varma had pointed out the gangster was only five years old when the blackbucks were shot.  

Blackbucks are known to be sacred to the Bishnoi community. But that he intends to kill Salman Khan for that generates a shock effect that immediately draws attention, he said.
 
In an exclusive interview with NDTV, Ram Gopal Varma said, "I tweeted about him and it got 6 million views. That is just an indication of what kind of interest he arouses in public". 

"The public is always fascinated by dons, which is why we make films... So I think he is getting a cult following, which is a very very new thing," he added.

The tweet is question is one where Mr Varma sums up the story so far of Lawrence Bishnoi, commenting that if it was a Bollywood script, the writer would have been thrashed.

Lawrence Bishnoi shot into headlines once again last week with the murder of Maharashtra's former minister Baba Siddique and his henchmen's threats for those supporting Salman Khan. Baba Siddique was killed apparently because he was a close friend of the actor. 

Details have emerged since of the extent of the crime network that Bishnoi commands from jail. The syndicate is vast and intricate, extending through several states including Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, and Himachal Pradesh. It even has branches abroad, especially in Canada, where key operator Goldy Brar is based.

The group primarily extorts money from high-profile targets, including celebrities like Punjabi singers, the liquor mafia, and other prominent businessmen, employing professional shooters to carry out hits and force victims into submission.
