Enough Evidence To Prosecute Coaching Centre Deaths Accused: CBI To Court

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday informed a Delhi court that there was enough evidence to prosecute the accused persons in the death case connected to the flooding in an Old Rajinder Nagar coaching institute.

The civil services aspirants had lost their lives following a torrential downpour in the national capital leading to the flooding at the coaching institute.

Principal District and Sessions Judge Anju Bajaj Chandna heard the submissions of the CBI, which urged the court to take cognisance of a chargesheet filed in the case.

Among others, the CBI has chargesheeted the CEO of Rau's IAS Study Circle Abhishek Gupta and its coordinator Deshpal Singh.

The defence counsel, however, opposed the CBI submissions, claiming the chargesheet was incomplete.

Following the submissions, the court posted the hearing on October 29 to decide on cognisance.

Shreya Yadav (25) from Uttar Pradesh, Tanya Soni (25) from Telangana and Nevin Delvin (24) from Kerala had drowned in the flooded basement of the building on July 27.

Supreme Court Calls Security To Remove Petitioner From Courtroom

Do not use the name of the judge, the Supreme Court had advised the petitioner. He insisted that he be heard. A heated exchange followed. Irked, the Supreme Court summoned the security to remove the petitioner from the courtroom.

Arun Ramchandra Hublikar had filed a petition against ex-Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, now a Rajya Sabha member. The petitioner claimed before the bench of justices Bela M Trivedi and Satish Chandra Sharma on Tuesday that his life had been made miserable by ex-CJI Gogoi's interference in an order related to a service dispute. 

Not convinced by the argument, the bench refused to entertain the petition.

The top court also remarked that there is nothing in his case. However, Mr Hubllikar, who was also arguing  the case, insisted the court hear his request as he kept blaming the former Chief Justice.

"We are going to impose cost. Don't take the name of the judge. There is nothing in your case," the Bench remarked.

"Nothing? How can it be said? It is injustice against me. At least I should get justice before my death," Mr Hublikar replied.

The Court reiterated its intention to dismiss the petition.

"Sorry, we cannot interfere. Your all petitions are dismissed," it said.

"How can you say sorry? This court has made my life miserable," an agitated Mr Hublikar retorted.

At this point, Justice Trivedi asked security to be called in for escorting Mr Hublikar out of the courtroom.

"Call security. Don't compel us to take action against you. If you speak a single word, you are out," the bench warned.

Mr Hublikar refused to relent.

"Madam, you are doing injustice against me. What is the problem in issuing notice against the complainant?" he asked again.

The Court then said, "Security, please take him out. We are calling security."

This was not the first time that Mr Hublikar faced the court's ire. Earlier, Chief Justice DY Chandrachud questioned him for filing a petition with a judge as a party in the case.

Film-Maker Ram Gopal Varma On Lawrence Bishnoi's Growing "Cult Status"

Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's personality and the points he is making through his crimes is what is drawing attention to him, giving him a "cult leader" status and getting him followers, his 700 shooters, film-maker Ram Gopal Varma said today. In an exclusive interview with NDTV, Mr Varma also said without his provocative comments, Lawrence Bishnoi would have remained yet another criminal.

Bishnoi, who is currently in Sabarmati jail in Gujarat, shot into limelight with the murder of Punjabi artiste Siddhu Moose Wala. But comments by his associates have exponentially raised curiosity.

While nothing is on record, Bishnoi's associates have given the impression that his grouse against Salman Khan is about the blackbucks the actor killed 20 years ago. In a tweet, Mr Varma had pointed out the gangster was only five years old when the blackbucks were shot.  

Blackbucks are known to be sacred to the Bishnoi community. But that he intends to kill Salman Khan for that generates a shock effect that immediately draws attention, he said.
 
In an exclusive interview with NDTV, Ram Gopal Varma said, "I tweeted about him and it got 6 million views. That is just an indication of what kind of interest he arouses in public". 

"The public is always fascinated by dons, which is why we make films... So I think he is getting a cult following, which is a very very new thing," he added.

The tweet is question is one where Mr Varma sums up the story so far of Lawrence Bishnoi, commenting that if it was a Bollywood script, the writer would have been thrashed.

Lawrence Bishnoi shot into headlines once again last week with the murder of Maharashtra's former minister Baba Siddique and his henchmen's threats for those supporting Salman Khan. Baba Siddique was killed apparently because he was a close friend of the actor. 

Details have emerged since of the extent of the crime network that Bishnoi commands from jail. The syndicate is vast and intricate, extending through several states including Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, and Himachal Pradesh. It even has branches abroad, especially in Canada, where key operator Goldy Brar is based.

The group primarily extorts money from high-profile targets, including celebrities like Punjabi singers, the liquor mafia, and other prominent businessmen, employing professional shooters to carry out hits and force victims into submission.

रिपोर्ट में कहा गया है, ‘‘पेशेवर श्रमिकों की उच्चतम संख्या वाला जातीय समूह भारतीय था. ब्रिटिश भारतीयों के पास घर के स्वामित्व की दर भी सबसे अधिक है, जिनमें से 71 प्रतिशत ऐसी संपत्ति में रहते थे जिन पर उनका या तो सीधा स्वामित्व था या बंधक/ऋण या साझा स्वामित्व के तहत स्वामित्व था.''

इसमें कहा गया है, ‘‘वाक्यांश ‘जातीय अल्पसंख्यक' में निहित विविधता अब व्यापक है - प्रत्येक अल्पसंख्यक समूह के भीतर और विभिन्न अल्पसंख्यक समूहों के बीच. सार्वजनिक नीति के उद्देश्यों से जातीय अल्पसंख्यकों को एक अखंड समूह के रूप में मानना ​​अब अर्थहीन हो गया है.''

इसमें कहा गया है कि ‘दक्षिण एशियाई' जैसी श्रेणियां न केवल ब्रिटेन के भारतीयों, पाकिस्तानियों और बांग्लादेशियों के बीच उल्लेखनीय आर्थिक और सामाजिक असमानताओं को छिपाने का काम करती हैं - बल्कि इसका मतलब यह भी है कि इन बड़े समूहों के बीच विविधता के बहुत वास्तविक रूप को चिह्नित नहीं किया जाता.

रिपोर्ट में 2021 की ब्रिटिश जनगणना के आंकड़े और अन्य सांख्यिकीय संसाधनों का विश्लेषण किया गया है जो इसे रेडफील्ड और विल्टन द्वारा कराए गए मतदान के साथ जोड़ती है. सभी जातीयता के 2,000 लोगों के राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर प्रतिनिधि नमूने के अलावा, 1,400 जातीय अल्पसंख्यक उत्तरदाताओं के ‘बूस्टर' नमूनों का उपयोग किया गया था - अश्वेत अफ्रीकी, अश्वेत कैरेबियन, भारतीय, पाकिस्तानी, बांग्लादेशी, चीनी और मिश्रित नस्ल वाले जातीय समूहों से प्रत्येक समूह से 200 नमूने लिये गये थे.

विश्लेषण के प्रमुख निष्कर्षों में यह भी शामिल है कि लगभग चार में से तीन लोग (सर्वेक्षण में शामिल 72 प्रतिशत लोग) मानते हैं कि बच्चों को ब्रिटिश इतिहास पर गर्व करना सिखाया जाना चाहिए, साथ ही बहुमत का यह भी मानना ​​​​है कि ब्रिटेन ऐतिहासिक रूप से दुनिया में एक अच्छाई की ताकत रहा है.

"Land, Spit Jihad Will Not Be Allowed In Uttarakhand": Pushkar Dhami

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said on Sunday that religious conversion, encroachment, "land jihad and thook (spit) jihad" will not be allowed in ‘Devbhoomi' Uttarakhand.

He also called upon the educated people to come forward to stop such things.

At a felicitation ceremony in Udham Singh Nagar district's Kichha, the chief minister said that Uttarakhand is ‘Devbhoomi' where everyone lives together.

"But religious conversion will not be allowed in Uttarakhand, encroachment will not be allowed, land jihad will not be allowed. Some people are doing spit jihad in Uttarakhand, but spit jihad will not be allowed in the state," Mr Dhami said.

"Educated people should come forward to stop bad things in the society. Whatever is wrong, will not be tolerated. This will not be tolerated in Uttarakhand at any cost,'' he said.

Recently, two brothers – Naushad Ali and Hasan Ali, residents of Khatauli in the Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh – were arrested for allegedly spitting in a tea pot and serving that tea to customers.

Mr Dhami said his government is taking tough but necessary decisions. He mentioned the anti-copying law, anti-riot law etc and said the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) will also be implemented in the state soon.

He said the people of Uttarakhand had given a mandate to his government for UCC and it will become the first state to implement it in independent India.

बाबा सिद्दीकी (Baba Siddiqui) की गोली मारकर हत्‍या कर दी गई है. एनसीपी अजित पवार गुट के नेता बाबा सिद्दीकी पर उनके बेटे जीशान के दफ्तर के बाहर फायरिंग हुई, जिसके बाद उन्‍हें इलाज के लिए लीलावती अस्‍पताल में भर्ती कराया गया था. हालांकि उनकी जान बचाई नहीं जा सकी. हत्‍या के आरोप में दो लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया गया है. बाबा सिद्दीकी को एक राजनेता के साथ ही अपनी शानदार इफ्तार पार्टियों के लिए भी जाना जाता था. शाहरुख खान और सलमान खान सहित बॉलीवुड के बड़े सेलिब्रेटी इन पार्टियों में अक्‍सर नजर आते रहे थे. 

सलमान खान और शाहरुख खान के बीच झगड़े के बाद उन्‍हें मिलाने वाले बाबा सिद्दीकी ही थे. दोनों के बीच कैटरीना की बर्थडे पार्टी के दौरान झगड़ा हो गया था और उसके बाद सालों तक दोनों के बीच बातचीत नहीं हुई थी. हालांकि दोनों सुपरस्‍टारों की फिर से सुलह कराने का जिम्‍मा बाबा सिद्दीकी ने ही उठाया था. बाबा सिद्दीकी ने अपनी इफ्तार पार्टी में दोनों के बीच सुलह कराई थी. 

NCP अजित पवार गुट में हाल ही मे शामिल 

बाबा सिद्दीकी का पूरा नाम जियाउद्दीन सिद्दीकी है. बाबा ने मुंबई के एमएमके कॉलेज से पढ़ाई की और अपने छात्र जीवन से ही कांग्रेस का दामन थाम लिया था. हालांकि कुछ वक्‍त पहले ही कांग्रेस को छोड़कर एनसीपी अजित पवार गुट में शामिल हो गए थे. 

समाजसेवा में आगे रहते थे बाबा सिद्दीकी 

उन्‍होंने कई बार सलमान खान की उनकी मुश्किल वक्‍त में मदद की. सलमान खान जब भी किसी मामले में अदालत में मौजूद रहना पड़ा, तब बाबा ज्‍यादातर मौकों पर उनके साथ रहते थे. 

बाबा सिद्दीकी समाजसेवा से जुड़े कामों में भी आगे रहते थे. बाबा सिद्दीकी ने लॉकडाउन के दौरान सलमान खान के साथ मिलकर काफी लोगों की मदद की थी.

बता दें कि बाबा सिद्दीकी पर बांद्रा ईस्‍ट में खेरवाड़ी सिग्नल पर स्थित उनके बेटे जीशान सिद्दीकी के दफ्तर के पास तीन गोलियां चलाई गईं. गोली उनके पेट में लगी थी. इसके बाद उनकी मौत हो गई. बाबा सिद्दीकी को Y श्रेणी की सुरक्षा दी गई थी, इसके बावजूद उनकी हत्‍या कई तरह के गंभीर सवाल खड़े करती है. 

हत्‍या की खबर मिलने के तुरंत बाद सलमान खान तुरंत लीलावती अस्‍पताल के लिए निकल गए. वहीं संजय दत्त भी लीलावती अस्‍पताल पहुंचे.

Maharashtra Ex Minister Baba Siddique Shot At In Mumbai's Bandra, Critical

Baba Siddique, a former Maharashtra minister and member of the Ajit Pawar faction of the NCP, has been shot at in Mumbai's Bandra and rushed to a hospital, where his condition is said to be critical. 

Sources said three bullets were fired at Mr Siddique around 9.30 pm on Saturday at the office of his son Zeeshan, who is the MLA from Bandra East. Two people have been taken into custody.

Mr Siddique is undergoing treatment at the hospital. Sources in the hospital said at least one of the bullets hit Mr Siddique in the chest and he is being given continuous cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

Mr Siddique, who was a three-time MLA from Bandra West, was associated with the Congress for 48 years and had quit the party in February and joined Ajit Pawar's NCP. Zeeshan Siddique was expelled from the Congress in August.

The firing took place on Dussehra and came months ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly elections, which are expected to be held later this year. 

Expressing his shock, NCP Spokesperson Brijmohan Shrivastav told NDTV that Mr Siddique had not spoken about any threats from anybody. 

Mr Siddique was elected as an MLA from the Bandra West constituency in 1999, 2004 and 2009 and served as a minister of state for food and civil supplies, labour and FDA between 2004 and 2008. 

The former MLA is known not just for his political acumen but also for hosting lavish parties. A cold war between superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan was resolved at an iftaar party hosted by Mr Siddique in 2013.
