CA Among 3 Arrested For Fraudulent Take Over Of Insolvent Company

The ED said on Wednesday that it has arrested three persons including a chartered accountant and a resolution professional as part of a money laundering probe linked to an alleged bank loan fraud related to regaining control of an insolvent company from the NCLT. Chartered accountant (CA) Rakesh Kumar Gulati, Ajay Yadav of resolution applicant firm Umaiza Infracon LLP and a person identified as Paramjeet were taken into custody on July 1 by the Gurugram zonal office of the Enforcement Directorate (ED). A special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court sent them to ED custody till July 9, the agency said in a statement. The case pertains to Sunstar Overseas Ltd (SOL), its ex-directors Rakesh Aggarwal, Rohit Aggarwal, Manik Aggarwal, Sumit Aggarwal and others. Trinamool Notice To Bengal MLA For Supporting Public Flogging Of Couple

The ruling Trinamool Congress in West Bengal on Tuesday issued a show cause notice to its Chopra MLA Hamidul Rahman for making statements supporting the public flogging of a couple that rocked the state. The incident that happened last week in Uttar Dinajpur district was caught on camera, and the video that showed a man flogging the couple in public sent shockwaves. "The party has show-caused Rahman for his remarks and has sought an explanation from him. The party in no way supports the incident or the remarks made by him," a senior TMC leader said. It will be a "very proud" moment for the entire nation if we can fly Prime Minister Narendra Modi to space, Dr S Somanath, Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation, has said. However, he quickly added that he would wait for the much anticipated Gaganyaan Mission to be "ready, to be proven, to be qualified enough to do that." भोपाल में आयोजित NDTV MPCG MSME कॉन्क्लेव में मध्य प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री डॉ. मोहन यादव (Mohan Yadav) ने राज्य में पेपर लीक (Paper Leak) की समस्या से निपटने के लिए कड़े कदम उठाने की घोषणा की है. Bridge In Bihar's Thakurganj Sinks, Sixth In 10 Days

Another bridge in Bihar went out of commission today, making it the sixth  in 10 days. The bridge in Thakurganj block sunk by a feet today the water level of the Bund river increased following heavy rains. The surface of the bridge cracked, making it too risky to use.   The bridge, located in Khoshi Dangi village of Patharia panchayat, was built in 2007-2008 from the MP fund of the then MP Md Tasleemuddin of Thakurganj. But today, it could not withstand the pressure of water. This bridge connects areas under three to four panchayats and if it collapses completely, it would affect around 60,000 people. Yesterday, an under-construction bridge in Madhubani region collapsed. Work on the bridge, built at a cost of Rs 3 crore by the Rural Works Department of the Bihar government, has been on since 2021. Sex Crimes Accused Prajwal Revanna Sent To Judicial Custody Till July 8

A court in Bengaluru on Saturday remanded former JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna, who is facing charges of rape and sexual abuse of several women, to judicial custody till July 8. He was produced before the 42nd Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court judge after his four-day Special Investigation Team (SIT) custody ended today. On Monday, Prajwal Revanna was remanded to judicial custody till July 8. But, he was later sent to SIT custody till June 29 by the Magistrate court judge, after the police sought a body warrant through the Special Public Prosecutor (SPP). Four separate cases have been registered against the 33-year-old grandson of the former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, all of which are being investigated by the SIT. Prajwal had failed in his bid to retain the Hassan constituency in the recently concluded LS polls. 315 Special Trains To Run For Odisha Ahead Of Rath Yatra In Puri: Minister

Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Friday met Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi to discuss extensive preparations by the railways for the Rath Yatra in Puri. Mr Vaishnaw said that 315 special trains will run this year, which will be much higher than last year. Along with Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy Chief Ministers KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida were also present in the meeting. "Today I have discussed about the arrangements made by Railways for the upcoming Rath Yatra in Puri with Odisha Chief Minister and two deputy CMs. This year 315 special trains will run which is much higher than last year.
