In a major embarrassment to the ruling BJD in Odisha, at least two senior leaders of the party are embroiled in alleged domestic violence and dowry torture cases even as Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik bats for women empowerment in Odisha. The two are Rajya Sabha MP AU Singhdeo, who is from the erstwhile royal family of Bolangir, and Kendrapara MLA Shashi Bhusan Behera. Both leaders and their families have been accused by their respective daughters-in-law. Mr Singhdeo's daughter-in-law Adrija Manjari Singh has lodged a complaint with Dehradun police alleging domestic violence and dowry torture against her husband Arkesh Narayan Singh Deo and her in-laws. दिल्ली पुलिस ने दो ऐसे लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया है जो खुद को बीजेपी नेता और बीजेपी अध्यक्ष समेत कई बड़े नेताओं का करीबी बताकर ठगी को अंजाम देते थे. मध्य दिल्ली के डीसीपी संजय सेन के मुताबिक बीते 9 मई को बीजेपी मुख्यालय की तरफ से शिकायत मिली थी कि कुछ लोग खुद को बीजेपी नेता और केंद्र सरकार के मंत्रियों का करीबी बताकर लोगों के साथ ठगी कर रहे हैं और बीजेपी की छवि खराब करने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं. इसके बाद साइबर सेल पुलिस थाने में केस दर्ज कर जांच शुरू की गई.  पुलिस ने बताया कि आरोपियों के मोबाइल नंबर की जांच से पता चला कि एक शख्स का नाम प्रवीण सिंह है, जो दिल्ली के घडोली इलाके में रहता है. पुलिस ने उस नंबर पर कांट्रेक्टर बनकर फोन किया और उसे मयूर विहार बुलाया. आरोपी जैसे ही मयूर विहार पहुंचा उसे पकड़ लिया गया.  आरोपी प्रवीण ने पूछताछ में बताया कि उसने इंटरनेट के जरिए पार्टी नेताओं के बारे में जानकारी हासिल की. इसके बाद वो उत्तर-पूर्व में पार्टी के कई नेताओं के संपर्क में आ गया. उसने उन्हें बताया कि वो पार्टी के केंद्रीय ऑफिस में काम करता है. प्रवीण ने उन नेताओं को बड़ी जिम्मेदारी दे...

A private nursing home operator here was booked after allegations that a girl's leg has to be amputated due to wrong plastering, official said here. The FIR was registered after Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Brajesh Pathak took cognisance of the matter. Chief Medical Officer Dr Satish Kumar Singh told PTI that eight-year-old Rimmi Gupta, a resident of Daulatpur in Motipur tehsil, suffered an injury in her right leg three-four months ago and was taken to Rampur Polyclinic and Healthcare Center in Khairighat area. There were no doctors at the hospital at that time, he said. Rakesh Yadav, the director of the centre, allegedly plastered Rimmi's leg wrongly, which caused an infection that spread through her leg and it had to be amputated, the CMO said. A 26-year-old man allegedly strangled his seven-year-old son to death following a dispute with his second wife in Indore, Madhya Pradesh on Monday, police said. The boy was the son of the first wife of the accused who had died six years ago, an officer said. After committing the crime in Tejaji Nagar area, he fled on a motorcycle, Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) Ashish Patel said. "His second wife was adamant that she would not keep the son born to his first wife with her. She was not willing to return to his house from her maternal home in Rajgarh due to this dispute," Patel said. A hunt is on to arrest the man, the ACP said.
