What Mamata Banerjee Said On Amartya Sen's 'She Can Be PM' Remark

Days after Nobel laureate Amartya Sen asserted that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee "has the ability" to be the next prime minister of the country, the TMC supremo responded saying "his advice was an order" for her.

Speaking to a news channel on Sunday, Ms Banerjee said that the economist is a "world-famous intellectual" and his "insight shows us the path".

"His advice is an order for me. His insight and evaluation of the of the country's current situation should be taken seriously by all," Ms Banerjee said.

In an exclusive interview with PTI last week, the 90-year-old economist had said, "It's not that she does not have the ability to do it. She clearly has the ability (to be the PM). On the other hand, it has not yet been established that Mamata can pull the forces of public dismay against the BJP in an integrated way to make it possible for her to have the leadership to put an end to the fractionalisation in India."

Mr Sen has also asserted that it "would be a mistake" to think that the polls would be a one-horse race in favour of the BJP, underscoring the significance of parties such as the DMK, TMC and Samajwadi Party.

"If the BJP looks strong and powerful, it has a good deal of weaknesses too. I think other political parties will be able to come to a debate if they really try. I do not know enough to be able to dismiss the anti-BJP parties together," he said.

नेपाल में हुए विमान हादसे में चार भारतीय युवकों की मौत, यूपी का गाजीपुर गमगीन

नेपाल के पोखरा में हुए विमान हादसे ने गाजीपुर के अलावलपुर अफगा इलाके को गमगीन बना दिया है.चारों तरफ सन्नाटा पसरा हुआ है. विमान हादसे के शिकार हुए चार लोग यहीं के निवासी थे और अलग-अलग व्यवसाय करते थे. इन चारों की उम्र 22 से 27 साल के बीच थी. 

अलावलपुर अफगा का सोनू जायसवाल (23) पुत्र राजेन्द्र जायसवाल अपने चार भाइयों में सबसे छोटा था और गाजीपुर में ही एक शराब दुकान का अनुज्ञापी था. उसने अपने परिवार से अलग रहकर बनारस के सारनाथ में घर बना लिया था लेकिन वह हमेशा अपने गाजीपुर के दोस्तों के साथ घूमने के लिए बाहर जाता रहता था.

सोनू के घर अलावलपुर अफगा में उसके घर पर ताला लगा था. मकान में कोई नहीं था. उसका परिवार बनारस में था. सोनू के दोस्त दिलीप वर्मा ने बताया कि सोनू उसका बहुत अच्छा दोस्त था. नेपाल जाने से पहले उसने उनसे भी चलने के लिए कहा था परंतु दिलीप अपनी बेटी की तबियत खराब होने के चलते नहीं जा पाया. दिलीप ने बताया कि सुबह करीब साढ़े आठ बजे हमारी बात सोनू से हुई थी. उसने कहा था कि हम अब काठमांडू में पशुपतिनाथ के दर्शन करके पोखरा के लिए विमान से निकल रहे हैं, 17 जनवरी को वापस आकर हम लोग पार्टी करेंगे.

विमान हादसे में जान गंवा चुके धरवा थाना नोनहरा के अभिषेक कुशवाहा 25 वर्षके थे. चंद्रमा कुशवाहा के पुत्र अभिषेक दो भाइयों में छोटे थे और अलावलपुर बाजार में ही सहज जन सेवा केंद्र चलाते थे. अलावलपुर में उनके सबसे नजदीकी दोस्त रवि गुप्ता ने बताया कि हादसा 15 जनवरी को हुआ और इसके एक दिन बाद ही 16 जनवरी को अभिषेक का जन्मदिन था. रवि ने नम आंखों से बताया कि काठमांडू से पोखरा निकलने के पहले सोनू से व्हाट्सऐप ग्रुप में जुड़े सारे दोस्तों से बात हुई थी. उसने कहा था कि लौटकर बहुत सारे काम निपटाते हैं.

मृतकों में अलावलपुर अफगा का ही निवासी विशाल शर्मा (22) पुत्र संतोष शर्मा दो भाइयों में बड़ा था और वह एक बाइक की एजेंसी में सेल्समेन का काम करता था.पूरे परिवार की जिम्मेदारी विशाल के ही कंधों पर थी. विशाल की मौत की खबर अभी उसकी मां को नहीं बताई गई है. उसकी मां हृदयरोग की मरीज है,लोग इसलिए उन्हें बताने से परहेज कर रहे हैं.

विमान हादसे में जान गंवा चुके अनिल राजभर(27) पुत्र रामदरस राजभर निवासी जकजैनब जहूराबाद का रहने वाला था. अनिल परिवार का एक मात्र कमाऊ सदस्य था और जहूराबाद बाजार में जनसेवा केंद्र चलाता था.

Delhi Man Beheaded On Camera, Video Sent To Pak: Cops

A man killed, allegedly by two arrested terror suspects in Delhi, was also beheaded, police sources have told NDTV. The identity of the victim is yet to be established. The police have recovered several body parts -- among them his hand, which had a Trushul tatoo. The man, aged around 21, was apparently a drug addict whom the two had befriended, sources said.

Police sources said Naushad was tasked with killing influential Hindus by his handler Sohail, who is a Pakistan-based operative of terror group Harkat-ul Ansar.

His accomplice, Jagjit Singh, was asked to propagate the Sikh separatist group Khalistan's activities in India, sources said. Jagjit Singh was allegedly in contact with Khalistani terrorist Arshdeep Dalla, who is currently in Canada.

The arrested men, sources said, have confessed that they took the man to Naushad's house in Bhalswa Dairy in northeast Delhi on December 14-15 and strangled him. His body was beheaded and chopped into eight pieces. A 37-second video of the proceedings was sent to Sohail, sources said.

The police, who found traces of human blood in the house in Bhalswa, are also trying to ascertain if the two have carried out any other target killing.

They are also probing the nexus between Khalistani terrorists and Pakistani intelligence agency. The men had rented the Bhalswa house together around Diwali and both were tasked with the murder.

Naushad was in jail in cases involving murder and extortion and had met Sohail there. In jail, he also met Arif Mohammad, an accused in the Red Fort attack.

Sohail went to Pakistan and after being released from jail in April 2022, Naushad got in touch with him, sources said.

2 Minors Rape 9-Year-Old Girl, Record Video To Blackmail: Cops

A nine-year-old girl was allegedly raped by two minor boys, who also made a video of the act and threatened to make it viral on social media if she told anyone about it, police said.

Station House Officer (SHO) of Highway Police Station Chhote Lal said on the basis of the complaint lodged by the relatives of the victim, an FIR has been registered and the girl has been sent for a medical examination.

According to the relatives, the incident took place on Saturday evening when the girl was alone in the house. The boys, who live in the neighbourhood, entered the house and began molesting her. When she protested, they raped her.

The accused also made a video of the incident and threatened to share it on social media platforms if the victim told anyone about it, according to the complaint.

दो स्कार्फ, दो जोड़ी दस्ताने और कई टोपी और हुड में बाहर आयी एक महिला ने कहा कि आप इतना नहीं झेल सकते हैं. या तो आप हालात के अनुसार खुद को ढालते हैं या फिर आप इसके शिकार हो जाएंगे. 

 बर्फीले धुंध से घिरे शहर में उन्होने कहा कि आपको वास्तव में शहर में ठंड महसूस नहीं होती है. या हो सकता है कि यह सिर्फ मस्तिष्क आपको इसके लिए तैयार करता है, और आपको बताता है कि सब कुछ सामान्य है.

एक अन्य निवासी, नर्गुसुन स्टारोस्टिना, जो फ्रिज या फ्रीजर के बिना एक बाजार में जमी हुई मछली बेचने के कार्य में लगा था ने कहा कि ठंड से निपटने के लिए कोई विशेष रहस्य नहीं है. बस आप गर्म कपड़े पहनो, परतों में आपको गोभी की तरह कपड़े पहनने होंगे.

महाराष्ट्र एमएलसी चुनाव : नामांकन में विफल रहने पर कांग्रेस ने अपने उम्मीदवार सुधीर तांबे को पार्टी से किया निलंबित

कांग्रेस ने पार्टी जनादेश के बावजूद महाराष्ट्र विधान परिषद चुनाव के लिए नामांकन पत्र भरने में विफल रहने पर अपने नेता सुधीर तांबे को रविवार को निलंबित कर दिया. तांबे ने नामांकन पत्र भरने के बजाय अपने बेटे सत्यजीत को नासिक संभाग स्नातक निर्वाचन क्षेत्र से निर्दलीय उम्मीदवार के रूप में मैदान में उतारा है. इस बीच, प्रदेश कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष नाना पटोले ने कहा कि पार्टी 30 जनवरी को होने वाले चुनावों के लिए नामांकन वापस लेने के आखिरी दिन सोमवार को आधिकारिक रूप से चुनाव लड़ने वाले एक निर्दलीय उम्मीदवार (सत्यजीत तांबे नहीं) को अपना समर्थन देने की घोषणा करेगी.

अखिल भारतीय कांग्रेस कमेटी (एआईसीसी) की अनुशासनात्मक कार्रवाई समिति के सदस्य-सचिव तारिक अनवर ने एक विज्ञप्ति जारी कर कहा कि पार्टी अध्यक्ष मल्लिकार्जुन खरगे की अनुमति से सुधीर तांबे को जांच लंबित रहने तक पार्टी से निलंबित कर दिया गया है. सुधीर तांबे ने कहा, 'मुझे इस घटनाक्रम पर कुछ टिप्पणी नहीं करनी है. मैंने कुछ समय के लिए इस मुद्दे पर न बोलने का फैसला किया है.'

उन्होंने ट्वीट किया, 'कांग्रेस ने मेरे बारे में जो कदम उठाया है, वह सही नहीं है. जांच के बाद सच्चाई सामने आएगी. मैं न्याय में विश्वास करता हूं.' इस बीच, उपमुख्यमंत्री और भारतीय जनता पार्टी (भाजपा) के वरिष्ठ नेता देवेंद्र फडणवीस ने दावा किया कि तांबे प्रकरण में उनकी कोई भूमिका नहीं है.फडणवीस ने यह भी कहा कि सत्यजीत तांबे को समर्थन देना है या नहीं, इस पर फैसला भाजपा की महाराष्ट्र इकाई के प्रमुख चंद्रशेखर बावनकुले उचित समय पर करेंगे.

उधर, राष्ट्रवादी कांग्रेस पार्टी (राकांपा) के प्रमुख शरद पवार ने कहा कि महाराष्ट्र में आगामी विधान पार्षद (एमएलसी) चुनावों में सत्यजीत तांबे के निर्दलीय उम्मीदवार के रूप में नामांकन दाखिल करने के मुद्दे से और अधिक व्यवस्थित तरीके से निपटा जा सकता था और विवाद से बचा जा सकता था.

UP Woman Beaten To Death By Grandson, Daughter-In-Law Over Property Dispute

An elderly woman died after being beaten up by her grandson and daughter-in-law over a property dispute in UP, police said on Sunday.

The incident happened in Hariharpur village under Unj police station limits on Saturday night, they said.

According to police, Abhiraji Devi (70) lived with her two sons Girija Shankar Pal and Jata Shankar Pal.

Girija's wife Phula Devi often fought with Abhiraji over the partition of the house but the elderly woman was against it.

Inspector Chhotak Yadav, in charge of Unj police station said on Saturday night, Phula and her son Amit thrashed Abhiraj and she died of injuries.

The body has been sent for post-mortem. A case of murder has been registered against the accused and a probe is underway, he said.
