Sadhvi Pragya Says "Sharpen Knives" Remark Was Reminder For Women's Safety

Bharatiya Janata Party MP Sadhvi Pragya on Wednesday took on the former bureaucrats who wrote to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla expressing discontent over her alleged hate speech, and said that she had only reminded people about their rights for women safety and that she would stand for the respect of women.

Her remarks came after 103 former bureaucrats demanded action from the Lok Sabha Speaker against Pragya.

Addressing Hindu Jagarana Vedike's South Region annual convention in Karnataka's Shivamogga in December last year, Pragya Thakur had said that a knife used for chopping vegetables can also cut the "heads of the enemies".

"Keep your daughters safe and protected. Keep weapons at home. Sharpen the knife used to cut vegetables. If our vegetables are cut well, heads and mouths of our enemies will also be cut well," she had said while addressing a gathering in Shivamogga, Karnataka.

Addressing the media here, the BJP MP said, "The public knows what is good.. what is right, what is legal, what is illegal, people of all ideologies live in the country and if I remind them of their rights for the safety of women and girls, then there is no need for them to be troubled."

"They will be happy if my (MP) membership is gone, they will be happy I don't care at all. Those who are opposing me, I have always stood for the self-respect of our self-respecting women, and for the respect of women, I will stand in future. I don't care about such people at all," she added.

Earlier, Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar took a swipe at Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur over her "sharpen the knives" in "self-defence" statement saying "virtuous people never speak about violence" and "use hate speech".

Kumar while addressing a gathering on the occasion of Congress' 138th Foundation Day in Mumbai said, "People who are actually virtuous never speak about violence. They never use hate language instead they speak only to unite people not to divide them. But Sadhvi Pragya is completely doing the opposite, she is asking people to keep 'sharpened knives' at home. Which type of sadhvi is she, I don't understand."

Maoists Fire At Elite Paramilitary Commandos In Chhattisgarh Encounter

An encounter broke out between commandos of CRPF's elite unit and Maoists on Wednesday when the security personnel were descending from a helicopter in the south Bastar region of Chhattisgarh, officials said.

The exchange of fire took place on the border of Bijapur-Sukma districts adjoining Telangana in the morning and the guns fell silent when Moaists escaped from the spot. Commandos were unharmed, while effort was on to gather information about the loss caused to Maoists, they said.

“Operations are being continuously carried out against Moaists in the bordering area of Bijapur-Sukma (Chhattisgarh)-Telangana. In this line, a unit of the CRPF's CoBRA's battalion was being dispatched to a forward operating base in a chopper,” a statement issued by the office of Inspector General, CRPF's Chhattisgarh sector, said.

The Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) is an elite anti-Maoist unit of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

"When the team was descending from the helicopter, an encounter broke out between CoBRA commandos and Maoists. On finding that security personnel were zeroing on them, Maoists escaped. No harm was reported to the CoBRA commandos and effort was on to gather information about the loss caused to Maoists in the incident. A search operation was underway in the area,” it added.

According to a senior state police official, the helicopter landed in the Elmagunda area in Sukma district where a camp of security forces is located.

RRR के 'नाटू-नाटू' को लिखने में लगे 17 महीने, गीतकार ने NDTV को बताया- क्यों खास है ये गाना?

अमेरिका के लॉस एंजिल्स में आयोजित 80वें 'गोल्डन ग्लोब अवॉर्ड्स 2023' में एसएस राजामौली की फिल्म RRR ने इतिहास रचा है. RRR के गाने 'नाटू नाटू' ने बेस्ट ओरिजिनल सॉन्ग का अवॉर्ड जीता है. इस उपलब्धि पर फैंस और सेलेब्स खुशी से झूम रहे हैं. इस गाने को लिखने वाले तेलुगू के मशहूर गीतकार और सिंगर चंद्रबोस ने NDTV से खास बातचीत की. चंद्रबोस ने बताया कि इस फिल्म के गाने 'नाटू नाटू' को खिलने में उन्हें 17 महीने लग गए थे. 'गोल्डन ग्लोब अवॉर्ड्स' में अपने गाने के लिए अवॉर्ड लेते हुए 'नाटू नाटू' के कंपोजर एमएम कीरावाणी भी इमोशनल हो गए थे. उन्होंने स्टेज से पूरी टीम को बधाई दी थी.

ये गाना तेलुगू में लिखा गया था, लेकिन बाद में इसे हिंदी के लिए 'नाचो नाचो' के नाम से लिखकर कम्पोज किया गया था. चंद्रबोस ने NDTV को बताया, "मुझे RRR के निर्देशक एसएस राजामौली ने फिल्म में एक खास सीन के लिए गाना लिखने के लिए कहा था. मैंने तीन गाने लिखे और उन्हें पेश किया. उन्हें इनमें से 'नाटू नाटू' सबसे अच्छा लगा." हालांकि, गाने को पूरा करना आसान नहीं था, क्योंकि इसे परफेक्ट होने में काफी समय लगा.

चंद्रबोस ने कहा, "मैंने आधे दिन में 90% गीत लिखे. निर्देशक ने उन्हें पहली बार में ही पसंद कर लिया. बाकी 10% को पूरा होने में एक साल और 7 महीने लगे." चंद्रबोस ने जूनियर एनटीआर और राम चरण पर फिल्माये गए इस गाने के लिए ग्रामीण परंपराओं के विषयों पर बोल लिखे. उन्होंने एनडीटीवी से कहा, "यह गीत ग्रामीण जीवन, भोजन और कृषि के विषयों को छूता है."

चंद्रबोस ने अब तक लिखे 3600 गाने
चंद्रबोस का पूरा नाम कनुकुंतला सुभाष चंद्रबोस है. एक गीतकार के रूप में चंद्रबोस ने 1995 में आई फिल्म 'ताजमहल' से करियर की शुरुआत की. अपने 27 साल के करियर में उन्होंने 850 से ज्यादा फिल्मों के लिए करीब 3600 गाने लिखे हैं. गीतकार के रूप में चंद्रबोस को दो राज्य नंदी पुरस्कार, दो फिल्मफेयर पुरस्कार और दो SIIMA पुरस्कार मिल चुके हैं.

किसने गाया 'नाटू नाटू' सॉन्ग?
'नाटू नाटू' गाने को राहुल सिपलीगंज और काल भैरवा ने मिलकर गाया है. इस गाने का लिरिकल वर्जन 10 नवंबर, 2021 को रिलीज किया गया था. हालांकि, कम्प्लीट वीडियो सॉन्ग 11 अप्रैल, 2022 को रिलीज हुआ था. इसी गाने के तमिल वर्जन को 'नाटू कोथू', कन्नड़ में 'हल्ली नाटू', मलयालम में 'करिनथोल' और हिंदी वर्जन में 'नाचो नाचो' के नाम से रिलीज किया गया. गाने के वीडियो में फिल्म के लीड एक्टर्स रामचरण तेजा और जूनियर एनटीआर ने डांस किया है. गाने की कोरियाग्राफी प्रेम रक्षित ने की है. 

यूक्रेन में शूट किया गया था नाटू-नाटू 
बता दें कि रूस-यूक्रेन युद्ध शुरू होने से कुछ महीनों पहले 'नाटू-नाटू' गाने को मरिंस्की पैलेस (यूक्रेन का प्रेसिडेंशियल पैलेस) में शूट किया गया था. गाने को अगस्त, 2021 में फिल्माया गया था. गाने का हुक स्टेप इतना ज्यादा वायरल हुआ कि लोगों ने सोशल मीडिया पर इसके साथ कई वीडियो बनाए. 

'नाटू-नाटू' गाने के रिलीज होने के महज 24 घंटों के भीतर इसके तेलुगू वर्जन को 17 मिलियन से ज्यादा बार देखा गया था. यह तेलुगू का सबसे ज्यादा देखा जाने वाला गीत भी बन चुका है.

Delhi Likely To See Light Rain, Foggy Weather Over Next 2 Days

Cloudy weather and light rain are predicted over the capital for the next two days under the influence of a strong western disturbance affecting northwest India, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Wednesday.

A dense cover of fog lowered visibility to just 50 metres in Delhi in the morning, disrupting movement of vehicles and trains.

"A layer of dense to very dense fog extended from Punjab to Bihar across Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh in the morning," an IMD official said.

The Palam observatory near the Indira Gandhi International Airport recorded a visibility level of 50 metres.

Ninety-five trains were delayed due to the foggy weather, a railways spokesperson said.

The Delhi International Airport Limited tweeted that low-visibility procedures were in progress at the IGI airport.

Passengers have been advised to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information.

According to the weather office, very dense fog is when visibility is between 0 and 50 metres, between 51 and 200 metres is dense, between 201 and 500 metres moderate, and between 501 and 1,000 metres shallow.

The Safdarjung observatory, Delhi's primary weather station, recorded a minimum temperature of 5.8 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperature in the capital is likely to rise to 9 degrees Celsius on Thursday amid cloudy weather and light rain.

Clouds trap the heat, which gets through during the day, keeping the night time temperatures above normal.

However, cloudy weather reduces daytime temperature by preventing exposure to the sun.

Cold wave conditions are predicted to return to the plains of northwest India after the WD retreats and frosty northwesterly winds start blowing from the snow-covered mountains.

Delhi saw an intense cold wave spell from January 5 to January 9, the second longest in the month in a decade, according to the IMD data.

It has also recorded over 50 hours of dense fog this month so far, which is the highest since 2019, a senior IMD official said.

The meteorologist attributed the long spell of intense cold to a layer of dense fog persisting over the Indo-Gangetic plains for the last 10-11 days and a large gap between two western disturbances, which meant frosty winds from the snow-clad mountains blew in for a longer-than-usual period.

The Indo-Gangetic plains have a lot of moisture owing to a large number of water bodies and rivers in the region. High moisture content, low temperatures and calm winds are the recipe for dense fog, the IMD official explained.

The city has recorded below-normal maximum temperatures this month so far due to dense fog that reduced sunshine hours.

Low day temperatures mean early cooling and early fog formation in the evening, he said.

The Safdarjung observatory had logged a minimum temperature of 3.8 degrees Celsius on Monday, 1.9 degrees Celsius on Sunday, 2.2 degrees Celsius on Saturday, 4 degrees Celsius on Friday and 3 degrees Celsius on Thursday.

AAP के राज्यसभा सांसद संजय सिंह समेत 6 आरोपियों को 3 महीने की जेल, 1500 का लगा जुर्माना

बिजली, पानी की समस्या को लेकर सड़क जाम करने के करीब 22 साल पुराने एक मामले में सुल्तानपुर की स्थानीय अदालत में आम आदमी पार्टी (आप) के राज्यसभा सदस्य संजय सिंह और समाजवादी पार्टी (सपा) के पूर्व विधायक अनूप संडा समेत छह आरोपियों को बुधवार को तीन महीने कारावास और 1500 रुपये जुर्माने की सजा सुनाई. इन सभी को अदालत ने बचाव पक्ष की अर्जी पर अपील की अवधि तक जमानत पर रिहा कर दिया.

विशेष मजिस्ट्रेट (एमपी/एमएलए अदालत) योगेश यादव की अदालत ने छह आरोपियों को भारतीय दंड विधान की धारा 143 (गैर कानूनी सभा) और 341 (किसी व्यक्ति को गलत तरीके से रोकना) के तहत दोषी ठहराते हुए ये सजा सुनाई. 22 साल पहले बिजली-पानी समेत अन्य समस्याओं को लेकर सड़क पर जाम लगाने, धरना प्रदर्शन करने सहित अन्य आरोपों में कोतवाली नगर में 19 जून, 2001 को सभी के खिलाफ मुकदमा दर्ज कराया गया था.

पुलिस ने राज्यसभा सदस्य संजय सिंह, सपा के प्रदेश प्रवक्ता व पूर्व विधायक अनूप संडा और पूर्व सभासद कमल श्रीवास्तव समेत सात लोगों के खिलाफ अदालत में आरोपपत्र दाखिल किया था. मुकदमा विचारण के दौरान प्रेम प्रकाश नामक आरोपी की मौत हो गई थी.

सांसद संजय सिंह ने पत्रकारों से बातचीत में कहा कि 2001 में उन्होंने भीषण गर्मी में 36 घंटे बिजली न रहने पर लोकतांत्रिक प्रक्रिया के तहत बिजली विभाग के खिलाफ प्रदर्शन किया था. इस प्रदर्शन में कांग्रेस और सपा समेत कई दलों के लोग भी शामिल हुए थे. उन्होंने कहा कि अदालत ने छह लोगों को तीन महीने की कारावास व 1500 रुपये जुर्माने की सजा सुनाई है. अदालत के इस निर्णय को ऊंची अदालत में चुनौती देंगे, क्योंकि लोकतांत्रिक ढंग से विरोध जताना सभी का नैतिक अधिकार है.

अब अलीगढ़ के मकानों में भी जोशीमठ जैसी दरारें, प्रशासन ने बताई ये वजह

उत्तराखंड के जोशीमठ इलाके में जमीन धंसने की घटनाओं के बीच अलीगढ़ के कंवरीगंज इलाके में भी कुछ घरों में अचानक दरार आने की खबर है. इन दरारों से स्थानीय लोगों में दहशत का माहौल है. एक स्थानीय ने बताया कि पिछले कई दिनों से हमारे कुछ घरों में दरारें आ गई हैं. जिससे हम लोग दहशत में रहने को मजबूर हैं. हमने इसकी शिकायत भी की है लेकिन नगर निगम के अधिकारी कोई ठोस कार्रवाई नहीं कर रहे हैं और केवल आश्वासन दे रहे हैं. हमलोगों को इस बात का डर है कि कहीं यह घर गिर ना जाए.

स्थानीय लोगों के अनुसार सरकार द्वारा स्मार्ट सिटी योजना के तहत पाइप लाइन बिछाई गई थी, जो अब कथित तौर पर लीक हो रही है, जिससे दरारें आ रही हैं. एक अन्य स्थानीय अफशा मशरूर ने कहा कि तीन-चार दिन हो गए हैं. हमने विभाग को इसके बारे में सूचित किया है, लेकिन अभी तक कोई सहायता प्रदान नहीं की गई है. हमें आतंक में जीने के लिए मजबूर किया जा रहा है. उधर, नगर निगम के अपर आयुक्त राकेश कुमार यादव ने मामले का संज्ञान लेते हुए कहा है कि विभाग द्वारा आवश्यक कार्रवाई की जाएगी.

उन्होंने कहा कि हमें अभी सूचना मिली है कि कांवरीगंज क्षेत्र में कुछ मकानों में दरारें आ गई हैं। मामला अभी पूरी तरह से संज्ञान में नहीं आया है। अब हम अपनी टीम को मौके पर भेजेंगे और नगर निगम द्वारा आवश्यक कार्रवाई की जाएगी.
