भारत और जाम्बिया के बीच द्विपक्षीय व्यापार और निवेश लगातार बढ़ा : ओम बिरला

जाम्बिया से आए संसदीय शिष्टमंडल ने संसद भवन परिसर में गुरुवार को लोकसभा अध्यक्ष ओम बिरला से मुलाकात की. यह शिष्टमंडल जाम्बिया गणराज्य की नेशनल असेंबली की स्पीकर नेली बुटेटे काशुम्बा मुट्टी के नेतृत्व में आया है. भारतीय संसद की ओर से जाम्बिया के शिष्टमंडल के सदस्यों का  स्वागत करते हुए ओम बिरला ने महामहिम नेली बुटेटे काशुम्बा मुट्टी को जाम्बिया की नेशनल असेंबली की प्रथम महिला स्पीकर चुने जाने पर बधाई दी. 

लोकतंत्र की जननी भारत का उल्लेख करते हुए बिरला ने कहा कि भारत विश्व का सबसे बड़ा और जीवंत लोकतंत्र है जहां 90 करोड़ से अधिक मतदाता लोक सभा के 545 सांसदों का चुनाव करते हैं. उन्होंने आगे कहा कि सदन में जनप्रतिनिधि, नागरिकों की आशाओं, आकांक्षाओं और अभावों  को अभिव्यक्ति प्रदान करते हैं.
 
भारत की विकास यात्रा के संदर्भ में ओम बिरला ने कहा कि देश की प्रगति में लोकतांत्रिक प्रणाली का बड़ा योगदान रहा है. उन्होंने कहा कि पिछले सात दशकों में संसद ने समाज के विभिन्न वर्गों की समस्याओं को सुलझाने के लिए कई प्रगतिशील सामाजिक और आर्थिक कानून बनाए हैं.संसदीय व्यवस्था में व्यापक समिति प्रणाली का उल्लेख करते हुए लोकसभा अध्यक्ष ने कहा कि समितियों के माध्यम से कार्यपालिका की जवाबदेही और पारदर्शिता सुनिश्चित की जाती है जिससे संसदीय पर्यवेक्षण और सदृढ़ होता है. बिरला ने कहा कि मौजूदा बजट सत्र में संसद, लोक वित्त के प्रहरी के रूप में अपनी भूमिका का निर्वहन मजबूती से कर रही है. 
    
ऐतिहासिक रूप से भारत और जाम्बिया के द्विपक्षीय संबंधों को बहुआयामी और पारस्परिक सहयोग पर आधारित बताते हुए बिरला ने कहा कि वर्तमान शताब्दी में दोनों देशों के सौहार्दपूर्ण संबंध मजबूत हुए हैं और दोनो देशों के बीच सहयोग का दायरा बढ़ा है. विश्व में सबसे तेज़ गति से बढ़ती अर्थव्यवस्था, भारत का उल्लेख करते हुए  बिरला ने हर्ष व्यक्त किया  कि भारत और जाम्बिया के बीच द्विपक्षीय व्यापार और निवेश भी लगातार बढ़ रहा है.

Nagaland Polls: 16 Sitting MLAs Dropped From Candidate Lists Of BJP, Ally

Nagaland's Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), the dominant regional power ruling the state in alliance with the BJP, announced its list of 40 candidates today. The list excludes 15 sitting MLAs. The BJP, which is contesting in 20 seats, also dropped a sitting MLA.

Party sources said the MLAs have been dropped to give a chance to new faces. The NDPP has denied tickets to 12 NPF (Naga People's Front) MLAs who joined the party.

The Congress, which has no MLA in the outgoing assembly, is yet to announce its list though the party earlier said it would contest in all 60 seats.

The NPF is also yet to announce its candidates. Party sources said they are expecting many of the dropped MLAs to join and indicated that a call can be taken later.

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio's NDPP and BJP are contesting the elections to the 60-member assembly in alliance for the second consecutive term. In 2018, the NDPP had won 18 seats, and its tally rose to 21 after it won three bypolls. In April last year, its strength doubled to 42 when 21 MLAs of the Naga People's Front joined.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal United has declared two candidates, including its state unit president NSN Lotha. Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) has announced one candidate.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), NPP, and the state's newest political parties -- Rising Peoples' Party (RPP) and North East Democratic Front (NEDF) -- are also likely to field candidates for the elections.
The election is due on February 27, the votes will be counted on March 2.

He Stole Government Bus In Maharashtra, Then Abandoned It In Karnataka

An unidentified man on Thursday drove away with a Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus from Latur and abandoned it in a village some 14 kilometres away in neighbouring Karnataka, a police official said.

The bus was stolen from Aurad Shahajani stop of the state-run undertaking in the morning, he said.

"The bus, which was deployed for services on the Nilanga-Aurad Shahajani route, was parked by driver Balaji Keokane at the end of his duty hours and was stolen between 3am and 6am on Thursday," he said.

"A probe that began on the complaint of driver Keokane led to the bus being spotted in Kesar Jawalga village in Karnataka. Efforts are on to nab the unidentified accused," the Aurad Shahajani police station official said.

In 2021 too a drunk man had stolen a bus from the Aurad Shahajani area, he added.

मध्य प्रदेश के भोपाल में एक ऐसा पेड़ है, जो 100 साल पुराना है. सबसे ख़ास बात ये है कि यह पेड़ बेर का है, जो आज भी फल दे रहा है. लोगों के लिए यह चौंकाने वाली बात लग रही है, मगर ये सच है. समाचार एजेंसी एएनआई की एक रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, मध्य प्रदेश के भोपाल के इंतखेड़ी में स्थित फल अनुसंधान केंद्र में त्रिलोक बेर नाम का एक पेड़ है, जो 100 साल पुराना है. त्रिलोक बेर एक दुर्लभ प्रजाति का पेड़ है, इसे संरक्षित किया जा रहा है. देखा जाए तो त्रिलोक बेर की पूरे देश में भारी मांग है. लोग इस पेड़ और फल की मांग कर रहे हैं.

वर्तमान में भारत में बेर की 125 किस्में हैं. 100 साल पहले जगदीशपुर (इस्लामनगर) के एक मंदिर में त्रिलोक बेर मौजूद था. यह पेड़ प्राकृतिक रूप से फलते-फूलते थे. मंदिर परिसर में पेड़ होने के कारण आस-पास के ग्रामीणों ने इसका नाम भगवान ब्रह्मा, विष्णु, महेश (त्रिदेव) के नाम पर रखा. ग्रामीणों का मानना है कि यह प्रसाद है. इस बेर को प्रसाद समझा जाता है.

वैज्ञानिक एचआई सागर ने त्रिलोक पेड़ के बारे में कहा, 'भोपाल की जलवायु के कारण यह पेड़ यहां पाया जाता है. हालांकि, पेड़ों की लगातार कटाई होने के कारण संख्या कम हो रही है. इस फल की खासियत है कि यह अन्य फलों से अधिक पका हुआ होता है. सामान्य तापमान में भी 12 दिन यह फल रह सकता है. इस फल में सुगंध होता है. लोगों को यह बेर बहुत ही ज़्यादा पसंद है.

India Has 21 Judges Per Million Population: Centre

India has approximately 21 judges per million population, the government said in Rajya Sabha on Thursday, citing the sanctioned strength of the judiciary and census figures of 2011.

In a written reply to a question, Law Minister Kiren Rijiju said for calculating the judge-population ratio for per million population in a particular year, the Department of Justice uses the criterion of using the population as per Census 2011 and as per available information regarding sanctioned strength of judges in the Supreme Court, high courts and district and subordinate courts in the particular year.

Based on the population as per the Census 2011 which was 1210.19 million and as per available information regarding sanctioned strength of judges in the Supreme Court, high courts and district and subordinate courts in the year 2023, the judge-population ratio in the country works out to be approximately 21 judges per million population, he said.

Girl, 16, Raped In Gurugram Hotel By 'Instagram Friend': Cops

A 16-year-old Class 11 student was allegedly raped by her "Instagram friend" in a hotel here, police said on Wednesday.

The matter came to light when the accused sent a nude picture of the girl to her mother and also posted it on social media.

According to the complaint filed by the mother of the victim, her daughter had befriended a native of Uttar Pradesh last year on Instagram and also engaged in a nude video call during their friendship.

The mother told police that the accused called her daughter to a hotel in Gurugram and raped her there.

"He again called her to the hotel two more times last week. He was pressuring my daughter to meet him by threatening to share her nude video and pictures online.

"On Tuesday, he posted a nude picture of my daughter on social media and also sent it to me. When I asked my daughter, she told me about the entire episode," she said in her complaint, according to police.

Following the complaint, an FIR was registered against Raj Diwedi under sections 8 (sexual assault) and 12 (sexual harassment) of POCSO Act, section 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC, and section 67 A of IT Act at Women Police Station (West) on Tuesday evening.

"An FIR has been registered and we are conducting raids to nab the accused. He too is reported to be a student," said Inspector Poonam Singh, SHO, Women Police Station (West).

अमेरिकी लॉ इनफोर्समेंट ने बुधवार को डेलावेयर में राष्ट्रपति जो बाइडेन के बीच हाउस की तलाशी शुरू की. उनके वकील ने कहा कि अनुचित तरीके से रखे गए क्लासीफाइड डॉक्यूमेंट्स को ट्रैक करने के लिए एक ऑपरेशन का यह नया चरण है. रेहोबोथ में सर्च की गई, जिसके बारे में वकील बॉब बाउर ने कहा, "राष्ट्रपति के पूर्ण समर्थन और सहयोग के साथ" तलाशी का काम किया गया. इसी तरह की तलाशी के बाद विलमिंगटन में बाइडेन के घर और वाशिंगटन डीसी में एक पूर्व आफिस स्पेस में कुछ दस्तावेज़ मिले हैं.

पहला कार्यकाल आधा बीत जाने के जश्न के बीच यह रहस्योद्घाटन बाइडेन के लिए तनाव पैदा करने वाला है. वे कथित तौर पर अगले कार्यकार्य के लिए मैदान में उतरने की घोषणा करने की तैयारी कर रहे हैं.

पूर्व राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रम्प के फ्लोरिडा में स्थित घर पर खोजे गए गुप्त दस्तावेजों के विशाल भंडार की जांच की देखरेख करने के लिए एक विशेष वकील की नियुक्ति के समान ही इस मामले में भी एक स्वतंत्र जांच के लिए न्याय विभाग द्वारा एक विशेष वकील नियुक्त किया गया है.

व्हाइट हाउस के अनुसार, बाइडेन की समस्या एक दशक पहले, जब वह बराक ओबामा के अधीन वाइस प्रेसिडेंट थे, के दौर के दस्तावेजों को एकत्रित करके रखने में हुईं गलतियां अपेक्षाकृत कम हैं. इसके विपरीत ट्रम्प ने 2021 में व्हाइट हाउस छोड़ने के बाद सैकड़ों क्लासीफाइड डॉक्यूमेंट सौंपने का विरोध किया था.बाइडेन का कहना है कि उन्होंने वाशिंगटन में एक थिंक टैंक में इस्तेमाल किए गए एक पूर्व कार्यालय में चंद क्लासीफाइड डॉक्यूमेंट की तलाश के दौरान अधिकारियों के साथ सहयोग किया है.

विलमिंगटन में उनके मुख्य निजी घर की FBI द्वारा की गई सर्च में और भी दस्तावेज़ मिले. रेहोबोथ प्रापर्टी, जिसका वे बहुत कम उपयोग करते हैं, वह तीसरी जगह है जहां अब अधिकारियों द्वारा निरीक्षण किया जाने वाला है.

बाउर ने अपने बयान में कहा कि न्याय विभाग ने "अग्रिम सार्वजनिक सूचना के बिना रेहोबोथ में सर्च शुरू की, और हम सहयोग करने के लिए सहमत हुए."
